2012 foglight install - what is it?

So I'm gtying to install my JDM foglight in my 2012 and I find this wire. It's like the harness is just looked to a deadend on the side of the fog. I havne't noticed this in any of the other pics I've seen. Is this standard, or did they put a harness in for 2012?

I have a 2011 and have the same harness. I think most Zs have it but there have been reports that some do not. The wiring runs to the BCM in the front passenger foot area, and then runs to the control stalks from there. If you have the Canadian or JDM control stalks there is a control to operate the fog light. I actually used this wiring hardness and then tapped into the lines at the BCM and ran my own custom button to the center console.

Check out this thread.

Yeah, I tried just plugging into it - no dice.

Sorry about my poor typing - I was trying not to get blood all over my computer from all the freakin' cuts I had trying to get the bracket off.

I'll take a look at wiring it the other way, though I did get the medium length harness from Z1.

Hah, you too? There's still blood all over my muffler/garage floor from doing this mod. Razor sharp sheet metal sucks.

Just an update...
I did find the thread about the plug that some have / some don't, but I'm still not 100% sure which wires I need to cut / splice into for just a 4th brake light operation. Pics would be sooooo helpful for newbies like me on DIYs like this. Saying 'splice the green and tan wire into the red and black one' doesn't get me very far.
