shift knob installation (am i doing it right?)

All you need is a towel and one of these rubber can opener things. You can also buy a whole roll of these, they sell them as kitchen drawer mats.

All you need is a towel and one of these rubber can opener things. You can also buy a whole roll of these, they sell them as kitchen drawer mats. Wrap this around the knob, then wrap it with a small towel so you don't thrash your palm, and it should break loose.
