So DJ or Ryan or 180 customs or anybody who has opened up their headlights.........can we get temps and times you used? or a DIY write up if you have the time and generosity?

Thanks.

dont take this the wrong way please. but i make my living doing this stuff and if i tell everyone how to do this i would be putting myself out of a job.... so im sorry but i do not feel like sharing.

like i said dont take that as me being an *** i just need to be able to pay my bills too.

Its not like you are giving them the ability to paint it and do all the LED work - you are just asked to share your temps.... You use this site as a place to publish your work and get more customers - why not help a couple of ppl who think they can handle a little painting?

Caravanshaka 06-23-2009 09:31 PM

I understand his reasoning. Maybe he has a better way of opening them up that ensures a perfect seal in the end, something you can't easily get from any of the other DIY articles on the web. It's called being skilled at what you do, and not revealing trade secrets that keep your business alive.

That being said, I've ordered the LED's to do this myself. My uncle works with LED's and circuit boards all the time so we are going to do the wiring, all I have to do is crack open the headlights to get access.

I completely understand.

If any of the above mentioned people would like to PM me that information I would appreciate it(I won't post it on the forum), I "should"(if seller doesn't fall through).........selll my RSX end of this month and buy my 370 when I get back from my trip to cozumel July 7th....so I'm just trying to get everything ready for when I get it.

I know how to do this :) I've done like 4-5 sets of lights in my time.

The LED's are a little over the top for me, but the lights look great. Maybe I'll think about this when I get bored some day.

Looks great, congrats!

well your post makes sense... so i guess if anyone is interested in some basic info i could help out. but just send me a PM. i wont go into details other than stuff to help you on your way. i think you are right. if people are asking how to do the stuff i doubt they will be a customer of ours anyways.

so send me a PM and ill help you out the best i can without giving away to many secrets

+rep for you for the offer of help on the little things. Wiring the LED's is going to be one of the most difficult parts for most DIYers, and that seems to be your specialization area. But for someone who just wants to crack it open and black it out, knowing the correct way to break open the headlights could potentially save someone $1,500

fuct 06-24-2009 09:30 AM

i opened up the headlights on my IS300. if you go to my.is and search im sure you can find excellent DIY's on the process. they even have temps and times for heating the head lights. now i know these headlights might differ from the 370's, but im just trying to get you guys close.

all that being said............... id still have someone else that has done it several times to do the work.

shabarivas 06-24-2009 10:26 AM

Thats exactly what i mean :) just help getting the basic stuff out of the way :p I would not expect wiring diagrams from you lol that would be asking too much and I understand its your trade skill :) You do awesome work and I will probably end up sending you mine eventually :)

Caravanshaka 06-24-2009 11:16 AM

Keep in mind though, if he is asking you to PM him for these things, please respect his wishes and NOT post any of the info on the forum. At least through PM he has a way to track how many people are using his information.
