CiNcity Designs Working with them may require some patience since they're pretty swamped. I paid for a new set of headlights for the core exchange. That way, I can still drive drive and not worry about waiting for my headlights. Although I won't be the first with landing strip LEDs, but it'll be other minor things that complete the headlight mod to make it noteworthy (check out my LED photo album). It was vinyl overlays for the 350Z, and now it's something real and unique for my 370Z. |
Nic@CINCity sent me a short video clip from his phone. He shows off the completed headlight (similar, but revised concept) next to the unpainted housing. He demonstrates the Knight Rider effect with the landing strip and constant lit on the other. His Youtube video demonstrating some concepts and possibilities that customers can request will be uploaded tonight, so be on the lookout!
In the meantime, he's getting the headlights assembled and shipped tomorrow. :excited: |
nice! I was going to custom make something like that except have the whole strip led on/led off style...but that looks awsome!
Cant wait for high-res |
i have a bad feeling that this design is gonna start to get overplayed... look what happened to BMW's halo lights.. 1 out of every 5 civics have them now =______=

Post #1 updated with Youtube Video! He's shipping the headlights today, so hopefully I can get them on my Z soon. Thanks Nic@CINCity!

Looks great man! Looks very OEM! The turn signal is kinda cool, i thought the whole bar should just blink on and off but thats smooth looking too
Keep us posted! |

Notice how painting the surface underneath the orange reflector darkens and gives it a "smoked" look. It was a theory to be tested, and it looks pretty darn good! Some of my friends were wondering about the projector turn signals. I think Nic opted for widely diffused lens, so we'll test this with my handmade LED bulbs. I definitely wanted to keep it simple. Again, the LED strip is as tacky as it gets since I wanted to evolve the concept from the 350Z LED bumper lights. Plus, those dimples need to serve some sort of purpose. What's different about these LED landing strips is the placement of the LED. I told Nic to make the LED forward facing and attach them to the back part of the dimple (illustrated in photoshopped example). The overall look is very stealth, and you have to face the car to see the full brightness of the LEDs. Anyhow, if interested, please let Nic know that I sent you. That way he can pull up the mod concepts an apply it to your headlights. He is also aware of this thread as well. :-) |

Again, great job! |
Very nice CINCity... the top projector lens looks like a great replacement for the turning signal, I take it they used a 2.5" lens. Hmmmm
The knight rider strip looks pretty cool too, but I wouldn't drive around with them on the street lol. |

Anyhow, I found Part 1 of the video and updated Post #1. Headlights were shipped today, so hopefully I'll get everything done in a couple of weeks before updating this thread. :excited: |
I wonder if there would be a way to just have the LEDS illuminate inside to outside for the blinker.

we can do anything!!

Wow I just saw the video and it is CLEAN. I am definitely digging this mod more than the iron-man one. Just a simple black housing with Knight Rider LED Strips (of course you gotta be able to control it) and I'm set. Definitely a first mod for me when my car arrives. What is the ETA start to finish?

wow that turn signal is awesome!
