Exterior Ideas?

I just got a new white 370Z, but I need some ideas of what to do to it. Brainstorming so far has brought me to powder coat the wheels black, carbon fiber diffuser, carbon fiber fangs, and black badge emblems. Anybody have some good ideas or experience?

Baer383 11-22-2011 06:19 PM

Painting the front and rear fangs/valance is very popular,so are carbon fiber "b" pillar covers.:tiphat:

bernardio 11-22-2011 06:30 PM

I'd say wheels spacers and lowering springs over carbon fiber bits and painted wheels. Nothing like improving the stance to make the z even sportier! :)

birdseed404 11-29-2011 02:48 PM

I don't know if I want to adjust the ride height yet as I still want to be able to go over speed bumps.

m4a1mustang 11-29-2011 02:50 PM

Spacers.

I didn't want to drop mine because I needed ground clearance, like you. Pushing the wheels out to be flush with the fenders with spacers really helped improve the look. No more tucked wheels.

cheshirecat 11-29-2011 04:23 PM

Swift springs will give you a drop without speed bump problems. That coupled with spacers is a pretty good start if you're looking for something a bit more aggressive.

m4a1mustang 11-29-2011 04:27 PM

It will be a PITA to get into some driveways, though. I scraped at stock ride height. :(

cheshirecat 11-29-2011 04:29 PM

:/

No problem in FL. Not sure how bad Colorado Springs is.

anthonyy 11-29-2011 04:47 PM

Was planning on getting springs until I saw this on my driveway:

That was with nobody in the car either...

Skorch 11-29-2011 05:09 PM

How wide of spacers do the stock Z wheels need? Not sure if Sport Package wheels are any different than base, but that's what I have.

memorylasts 11-29-2011 05:11 PM

20mm All around...

did you drop the car? that always makes a big change and it's always good to have that as a foundation so you know how your car will sit

+ 1

I always thought the nicest looking white cars had the roof done in black vinal and the headlights painted painted white to match the car and the aftermarket tails that are mostly clear.

anthonyy 11-29-2011 09:05 PM

+1 for black roofs on white cars

can you notice more of a wheel gap now that you have installed spacers with no drop. I want to get spacers but an afraid of the wheel gap looking larger due to the wheel being closer to the fender. I dont plan on dropping the car in the near future. maybe sometime down the road when i have more disposable income.... im sure installation costs are pretty high for springs

I believe adding spacers actually reduces the look of the gap.

On a slightly more serious note:

Has anyone ever used (or seen) the space between the hood ridges as a "racing stripe"??? You know like basically filled the space between ridges......if I get a nice weekend I thought about using Plasti-Dip to see how it would look. Also ordered the Plasti-Dip glossifer, hopefully that comes soon.

I've seen something like that, but i don't remember where are if it was real or just Pshopped.

Apoc370z 11-30-2011 03:08 PM

I think you should check out the member's Z section. There are a lot of modded white Zs there

I personally like the 40th anniversary gunmetal wheels with carbon fiber fags and diffuser.
Black wheels hide wheel diameter and detail IMHO

sfearl1 12-06-2011 10:04 AM

^^ yep. carbon fangs, black headlights/roof, mine's spoiler extension, gunmetal wheels, tinted windows, spacers/springs

call it a day.

KaienZ34 12-06-2011 10:39 AM

Sold my volks and went back stock til my new wheels get here.

Cloudy day makes them look black but they are gun metal.

I saved this pic from awhile ago but forgot who's it was.
To whomever's car this is, I am sorry for posting it without your approval, and will remove it right away if you would like.

edit: I just realized youre talking about a stripe in a different location. But I'll keep this post up anyways.

That's my friend's ride, Bruneian's locals like me. i'm sure he doesnt mind you posting that pic. after all we are Z enthusiast community

powdercoat or paint your calipers yellow. If I go to the 370z platform from my 350z, I wanted white with yellow sport brakes! It really makes a huge difference to have some color in there.

DufDaddy 12-07-2011 10:35 PM

yeah I was thinking a big stripe up the middle....not that I am going to but was just wondering.

Bluebatmobile 12-08-2011 03:21 PM

ZoroItaliano 12-09-2011 09:50 AM

yeah gunmetal is just great ....I have them on my car. Black wheels is a new trend, even people with civics are powdercoating black and they add the red racing strip "guaranteed to make a car run 10 hps faster" :driving: lol

agreed!! Gunmetal is still bright enough to seperate the tire from the wheel. Keeping exterior mods to a minimum on 370z is key....Im seeing a lot of z's on here that are sooooooo civic-y :barf::barf:
