I finally got a chance to try and take some pics. I took them in the garage so they are not the best. Flash makes it look totally crazy, and no flash is hard to see. This is the only one that even "sort of" came out right. I need to take some outside in the sun so you can see how they look. The CF is not perfect, but it's 10 times better than the stock stickers. When I wear sunglasses I can hardly even see it even when looking right at it. Much better.

So I was showing this to my friend last month and he was like, THAT is freakin' awesome!!! He has a new Challenger which is his baby. He proceeds to tell me that he REFUSES to even use his visors because when he flips them down, those ugly stickers show out the window like a sore thumb, and there is no way he wants other people to see that!!! Classic. He's more worried about it looking ugly to complete strangers than himself in the car. Too funny. :rofl2:

So he took pictures from the outside of my car with them flipped down to show his son. The son must have loved them because now he wants me to make him a set.

I need to take some pics from the outside and post them here. I'll do that when I get a chance. Although considering it's been many months since I've even been on this forum, don't hold your breath waiting for me.

Cheers ---- Bonzo

Accidentally figured out a super-easy way to do these:

On my first attempt, I measured and then cut them a little oversized. When I put the first one on, I didn't like the way (a) you could see the edges of the Di-Noc and (b) that you could see the valley where the warning is heat sealed. So I pulled it off (it was just lightly stuck). Then I noticed something-there was an outline of the edges of the decal in the adhesive. So I took a look at how far past the edges the heat sealed part went past the 'high' edge and into the valley. Took a pair of scissors and trimmed around the impression in the adhesive the amount of the margin. It was about 1/8" or so. Put it back up and it fit perfect - the edges of the Di-Noc sit right at the edge of the valley so it's perfectly flush.

So you're basically creating template and then trimming around it to leave a margin to cover the depressed area. It allows you to follow the actual outline, including the corners. Mine aren't perfectly square so measuring wouldn't have worked well anyway. The biggest trick to this is to just lightly attach it first to make your template in the adhesive.

Good plan! Perfect.

Where can I get that arm mod? Does that attach to the window sill or the outside of the car? How does the wind at driving speed effect it? I'd love to get that, it would keep both of my hands free for driving. Can I get it in CF?

:rofl2: :roflpuke2: You like that eh? I'm surprised anyone noticed. Well, sorry, but it's one of a kind. Now you can imitate it if you like, and I'm sure most people won't even notice. The best part is it easily goes from car to car, so if you have a beater car for daily driving, it just pops right out of the Z and goes with you eezy peezy. Oh, and I can talk to my nephew, because he wraps prosthetic arms for a side job on weekends (he does cars and other signage work for his normal job). He might be able to wrap you one with 3M di-noc carbon fiber vinyl. They cost several thousand a piece though.

And from outside the car with the visors swung forward.

I am new to Z's but those stickers are a real bother. Has anyone tried to apply heat or naphtha to rid the visor of those ugly things? How about blacking the things our.

sparky 12-17-2012 10:26 PM

Covering them is about the only way, they can't be removed without damaging the visor.
I actually had the dinoc at first but one of them wouldn't stay stuck for some reason.
I ended up buying a pair of kids black spandex pants at Wal-Mart for $5, cut the bottom of the legs off, and just slipped them over. They stretched on for a snug fit and no one even notices them. An option for those on a budget!

I see advantages / disadvantages in this:

Disadvantage: You can't open the mirror to see how fabulous you are.

Advantage: Should you ever need to rob a bank, your stocking mask is handy.
