Z Cargo Capacity - Guitar players?

Obviously it's limited, but my wife and I have no kids, so I think we can make it work for the day to day stuff. I do however play guitar (electric) and was wondering how the Z accommodates guitar gear. I am sure I could throw my amp head in the front seat. However, the back seems tight for a standard electric strat style case. I have given up on the idea of fitting my 2x12 cabinet or Jackson Double Rhoads in this thing if I get a Z.

Any players here care to share their experiences?

I just grabbed my guitar (in the case) and threw it in the back. Fits just fine. ;]

I fit a Taylor acoustic w/ hard case in there this weekend and it fit nice and snug. Almost as if it was designed to fit back there.

PS, that's a fender strat in that case.

speaking from my exp with the 350, and considering the bar was moved from the middle of the trunk towards the front, you can easily fit a guitar back there...

but don't even think about fitting your cab!!!

That surprises me. There must be a lot more space back there than I thought. A Taylor hard case is a big piece of furniture.

On my next Z-shopping excursion, I'm going to take my wife's suitcase. If I can fit her suitcase back there, lack of luggage space will no longer be on my list of drawbacks.

Fits my tour size golf bag just fine, without the blind that is.

:mad:I play bass and i fit my 250 watt Hartke amp in the front seat, but it rattles and has dented the door on the passanger side

but as far as guitar and bass go i can fit multiple in the back no problem.

I can a bunch of guitars in. my trick is I like to put them in the front passenger seat on the floor and lean them towards the seat. I save the hatch for my amp but you need a thick blanket so it doesn't rub. Your gonna have to go with a 1x12 or smaller. Line 6 flextone fits, etc.

If you have to put things in the trunk on a daily basis, this probably isn't the car for you. The trunk door has not been designed to deal with daily opening and closing. G37 might be better designed for that.

Explain how its not designed to open on a daily basis?

I had to replace my 350Z struts after I opened and closed it about 200 times over 4 years. All of my other hatchback sport car struts had similar life time.

Sorry, but not true. It's supposed to be opened when you choose to open it. I routinely open my rear hatch at least 4-8 times a day. So far it's fine and I've certainly opened it more than 200 times. If the struts fail, Nissan has three years ahead of them replacing them for me.

Can anyone post a pic of a guitar hard case back there? I have a plastic bin and bungee system going right now so all my loose items don't roll around. I'm quite happy with it, and it's pretty quick to take it apart if my guitar would fit back there.

Thanks for the pics and the input. I will not be using the car on a daily basis. Weekend only car. I live in the city and either walk to work or take a bus. The back looks a little tight, but I could probably make it work. It definitely won't fit the King V case.

I am a little bit worried about fitting two roller board suitcases back there if the wife and I went to Tahoe or something. Need to check it out at a dealer.
