CF Wrapped a few pieces...

Showing off a few pieces I CF wrapped. I ordered some 3M CF wrap and this was my first time ever doing any wrapping...

Excellent! Link to where you purchased the wrap?

Great job! I love it! I think I like the shifter and trim mods the most!
Looks like I am going to have to get some of this stuff.

I did remove them. The hats, I believe I broke the mounts, but they still go back on...I didn't have to use any double sided tape or anything. The Tach comes off easily too...just have to pop the outer gauge sides and remove 2 screws.

Carbon Fiber Film | Dedicated To Selling 3M Carbon Fiber DI-NOC Vinyl I got the one for $60/8sqft and it was more than enough. It already has the self adhesive backing - so no need to use any spray glue.

It works well...and the more you do, the more you understand how to get it done right. You definitely want the wrap heated well and it will stretch nicely.

Looks Great!!!

ive been having a hard time wrapping anything with that stuff. It seem brittle but im probably doing something wrong. Wish i had the skills to wrap some interior pieces!

gurneyeagle 10-12-2011 10:42 AM

Outstanding job!

I'm going to play with mine this weekend. I think the hardest part of the process is gaining enough confidence to disassemble the interior pieces.

I'm confident I can get the center stack fascia covered, I'm just gun shy taking it all apart.

You need to heat it up really well. Use a heat gun...I tried using my wifes hair dryer but that wasn't hot enough.

Let me get up to speed with this stuff, and I'll be glad to help you with your car. From everything I've read, it just takes a little patience and the right tools.

I just picked-up a new heat gun from Home Depot last week, so I think I'm good to go - famous last words.
