Rear Hatch Release Issue

Anyone have any problems with the rubber rear hatch release button.
I ask because when i went to open the rear hatch i could fill the switch
crack or break in to. And i didn't use much pressure when i pressed on it.

Anyway switch has been ordered but the dealer claims the entire rear bumper
will have to be removed to replace the switch. does this sound right?

Sorry haven't heard about your issue.

I believe it does have to be removed. It's not that hard. Was it under warrenty?

sonic- you were rearended by a cop a few months ago, no? could the switch have been damaged from that impact?

i think you would need to remove the bumper to get clear access to the wiring, but not sure.
