Like it a lot, does it provide significant cooling to the engine bay or is this just for looks?

We haven't had the chance to fully test the vents cooling capabilities...

Looks cool but needs some paint!

bullitt5897 08-25-2011 05:49 PM

We are hoping to make both FRP and CF hoods. All our CF hoods will be clear coated from the start so you wont have to worry about fading

What sucks is we haven't seen type 2.

Are there rain guards built in? Not that I care just asking in general.

We are still designing type 2... There are no rain guards as the areas vented is just in front of the motor.

VaGntlmn 08-25-2011 06:40 PM

aw man, now you've got me wondering what type 2 is going to look like and I cant focus on type 1 :icon14:
In for more information....

Meh, not a fan. The flat finish and lack of shape to the top of the hood around the vents makes it look cheap, like an OEM hood that was hacked up in somebody's garage. The lack of flaring on the fronts of the vents is going to make it less effective at extraction, which is why I assume you guys designed this hood to begin with...

The hood doesn't look "hacked up" at all. You may not like the styling, which is fine, but the fit and finish looks top-notch.

So, yeah. Go and make one of these in your garage and I'll be happy to agree with you.

CBRich 08-26-2011 11:41 AM

What are the chances that we would be able to mount coolers directly in the vent path? Is there enough clearance for that? I'm thinking STI intercooler setup.

bullitt5897 08-26-2011 12:56 PM

Any coolers would be custom mounts...
