So it is 900 with the core charge? Or 600 total im a little confused sorry.

XwChriswX 08-23-2011 06:04 PM

Our cars are safe to remove these and drive around w/o them correct? (Provided you don't get into an accident obviously :p )

So if I just take mine out and ship it to you, I don't need to pay a core charge correct??

Carbon Fiber Element 08-23-2011 06:59 PM

Its 600 plus the refunded core charge of 300. The core charge is just so we don't get screwed and someone doesn't return the bar. To cover our @ss basically. And your stock bar can be sent to save time instead of waiting. And also, if you don't want to pay the core charge, yes. As far as driving without the bar I'm not sure. I'd say look into that beforehand to be safe.

I'd say you'll be fine. Google real quick and you'll see guys have removed them without any problems. Its really just a handling/performance upgrade IMO. Of course better handling and feel with it but a week or so without it i think you'll be fine. Just my 2 cents so don't hold me to it.

So after a quick test fit, fits as good as stock. All panels fit perfect and no problems. The install is kind of a pain since half of the trunk needs to be removed along with the panels by the seat belt. But all in all its not too bad. We've had plenty of experience taking interiors apart so anyone whose done the swme should have no problem doing this swap. Could be a bit of a job tho for someone a little less experienced. Here's one quick teaser pic, stay tuned. But as far as the GB goes, lets get it going. We're finishing up this first pair of bars we have and looking to get this list going so we can start taking deposits.

Give me until October, I'll grab one of these and a steering wheel, both in dry carbon..

Great products!

Man that looks soooo sick. Might have to wait on some other things and go ahead and knock this out first lol. Excellent job guys.

Is anyone, or are you guys going to make up a DIY of the removal/installation? I know how to get the rear panels out and such, but for all the ones surrounding that piece I'm not 100% sure. The real bitch is gonna be taking out my sub box... again. :rofl2: :shakes head:

Do you have a picture of what blue kevlar carbon fiber will look like?

Give us a little to get a DIY up...basically all the side panels in the trunk need to come out and the plastics by where the seatbelt bolts up too. Also around the rear quarter glass, those plastics need to be pulled. Then the plastics that surround the bar. Then unbolt the bar, replace with new, and put all back together. Its really not too tough but I need to get better pics to do a proper DIY.

Sounds good, prolly wont be another month or two before I can do this. Are those pieces hard to remove/replace? i.e. do those plastic clips break if you pull them out just once?

No, not really hard at all...take your time and don't go tearing though everything and youll be fine.

Did you guys sell all of the door panel control inserts or do you have a set of those still laying around? I'd love to swap mine out...

If not, what would be the cost/turnaround time of shipping them to you, plus the silver ring? If thats not something you wanna discuss here, feel free to PM me the details.
