When you guys plasti dip your rims, do you guys do the inside too or just the face/spokes of the rim?

NickTurnon 12-24-2012 06:09 PM

Just the rims..

If you spray the dip with the wheels left on your car, your bound to get dip inside the wheels. Its all good though, it gets black inside there anyways.

Yeah but I think to get a more full effect I would spray inside as well, it only takes a couple more mins to shoot it inside with a couple more sprays. You just cant do it with the wheels on the car thats all.:tiphat:

What color did you do the rims? Looks like gunmetal grey.

I plastidiped a large amount of my last car, it turned out great and lasted without a problem for over a year.

Just an FYI update. In doing a little more research I have come to the conclusion that prepping any area beforehand will make the application that much stronger and last a lot longer. Some of the more recent dipyourcar videos show his special spray. I think this is where a lot of rim problems are coming from. Good luck! Happy holidays

Do they make a gray/light gray? Too lazy to google myself. Got a mag-BLK z thinking of alternating that area and rear to lighter opposite of the lighter color Zs and the black fangs. Too 'ricey'?

I dont think its ricey, and most plasti dip after dried becomes gray, thats why you have the option of spraying glossifier, if you do you get a more shiny black. :tiphat:
