Mike....no you dont know the whole story.
I want to get these orders completed before anything else but dropped the ball and I admit it. All UAM can do at this point is recover and make the customer happy.

Second group buy hasent happened because I want these orders completed meaning shipping and customer has them. And I wanted to make everything right.

Easy?

I never said it was easy... nor did I say I DON'T run a business. I just said that customers are important and they should come first. But then again, I've only been doing it for the last ten years... what do I know.

Anyone can sell anything all day, but when it comes to backing up your customers and making them happy is what makes the difference. I hope you guys get all of this squared away and put this in the past. I would also hope that if you guys have another group buy that you learn from what has happened here.

Type one I appreciate your concern and the points you made. If you haven't ever sent a car to SEMA you don't understand how much of a full time job it is. We have 2 cars here at the show and things like vinyl stickers not being made took 2 days to get resolved. We had placed te order for te vinyl more than a week in advance! My wide body didn't get finished and I had an issue with some paint... Why? Because for shows like this everyone's busy beyond capacityand every car is a rush order or job. Not because we procrastinated but because one shop may take 1 day too long then a shipment doesn't arrive on time and then before you know it your a week or two behind schedule!!!

Enough of the lesson on Sema prep... The big thing here is we are stepping up an taking control of the situation. I am in Vegas and Andrew has been out taking care of family stuff for the past weeks (no excuse just tellin y'all what's going on).

I'm not going to go into our production processes but we are working to make sure the product comes out great... If we are not happy with the quality it gets scraped. So again we apologize for the delay and every order has been addressed in house. Lessons learned so let us get these out to people and we can go from there.

(I typed this from my room in Vegas)

Mike, thanks for bringing everyone up to speed. I'm sure the guys that are waiting on their spoiler are glad to here that you're addressing the issues.

I have built cars for SEMA, and while I'm not attending this year, I was present last year and will there next year as well as PRI in Orlando. I guess that begs the question, why am I not there this year? Well, in my line of work we simply have too many things going on and I refuse to let my customers suffer because of that. If that means missing SEMA, so be it. Now, that might not be the issue... Maybe there was an issue with the parts themselves. I can understand quality issues... Those things take time to address. A part like that can't be made overnight so the only option the customer has is to wait.

That being said, I think being open and upfront with them is the only way to prevent something like this from happening. I'm not going to tell you how to do things, but as a potential customer I can only share my ideas, thoughts and suggestions.

For the sake of the people waiting, do you have an estimate on how long it will take before these things ship?

In my opinion, and take this with a grain of salt, but if I buy a part and am told its going to be 3 months before I get it... That's cool. It's up front and I'd be happy to wait. But if I'm told 3 weeks and get excuses for 3 months, it gets frustrating.

Ultimately I try not to over promise and under deliver but thanks again for brining everyone up to speed.

Mike, Andrew, good morning.. I understand you guys are/were busy with SEMA..

I got a PM saying that the spoiler shipped last Tuesday. To be honest with you, I won't be able to believe it until I see tracking number and carrier.

On that matter, does it really take that long to get us the tracking number for the items that supposedly shipped already? (speaking for Iwan72 and myself)

I would greatly appreciate you guys addressing this!

Mike

So the spoilers HAVEN'T shipped yet..??

bullitt5897 11-08-2011 02:04 PM

Some have and some havent. I am not in the office so I do not have tracking numbers on hand. I remember yours was shipped and I believe we messed up on the shipping address. I was told it was shipped back to the warehouse and was shipped back out... I will have to double check when I get back in to the office.
