someone explain this to me...

why is the "gtr-button" a "mod" on our cars?!? honestly... is it just so when people get in your z you can point to it and say:

Z owner - "this is from a GTR!"
average joe - "....uhhh:ugh2:".

imo opinion it sticks out like a sore thumb and doesn't match anything in our cars.

whyyy do people do this?

I thought the same thing, then when I took my dash apart to get it CF'ed I went ahead and got one. I just like to say NEVER PUSH THE RED BUTTON! GTR is never mentioned. I have no red inside but I think it blends in just fine.

Doesn't make much sense to me either. I actually preffer the stock start/stop button...It lights up!!! that's pretty sweet IMO!!! lol

so to compensate for this, if you decide to keep your stock start/stop button, just take one less bite of your sandwich at lunch :happydance:

People just want something different. If the z came with a red start button then they would want a white button. The same thing applies with our rear fog light. If it came red people would darken it. It's really not a big deal to me.

Apoc370z 07-07-2011 01:04 PM

I dont have it but i am planning to get one. I think the main reason why people get it is cause the white start button looks dull in comparison. And red matches well with black if you have the black interior.

Mostly based on personal prefrence anyways.

I have a red car...button looks cool but I don't think I'd spend 40 bucks on a new button.

I just ordered one today, I'll let you know what the hype is all about after I install it.

It's dyno proven to add 15 hp. :rofl2: But really, what azn370z said is spot on...people just want something different, and I think the glossy red finish on the button looks great. Personally I don't expect average joe to even notice it, nor do I care...I got it for my own personal enjoyment.

Cmike2780 07-07-2011 01:28 PM

It def looks better with my black interior. The stock one looks like it belongs more in an Altima. I could care less if it was made for a GT-R. It's not like it has a GT-R logo.

Also, it does light up the same by the way....well not exactly the same, but still

Another option would be to change the LED color

Brutal 370Z 07-07-2011 01:32 PM

oh it lights up!! i didn't know that. I retract my statement.
