Feeler: CarbonSignal V1 Limited-Edition Hood
Ok guys, so we are getting lots of pms regarding the hood which we did for docaam.
The design is inspired from the Superleggera hood on 380RS, but the vents are slightly shorter as the radiator place frame restricted us to go all the way down when we were making it, TBH, i really liked the outcome cause it came out aggressive yet in not over done. and since there are not much of options of aftermarket hood for the Z34, we are proud to have a NEW option added to the community. I believe VIS is making something similar just the vents are bigger and all same size while our design is more rounded and edges are deeper and refined. The interest for this design was there since a while now, we even got a request from Nitruoz to get it done for him but we got busy with the fenders and the new items, and then docaam came to us to do it on urgent matter as he was wrapping his car. So now we worked out some pricing and can offer the hood as the following: CarbonSignal Hood V1 Non-painted: 795$ + Shipping 50$ OFF for return customers. Break down: New OEM hood = 400$+ - labour charge = 395$* We are not selling this hood in mass but we will make it as a Limited-Edition hood with limited spots of confirmed orders. We will be using BRAND NEW OEM hood then we will make fiberglass insert into it, that way you get 100% garanteed fitments. We will order the hood once orders are confirmed. (1st come 1st serve) Note: we can do Custom one-OFF Design for those who are interested and pricing can be worked out depends on the request. and when we say One-OFF.. then it means we will not do it to anyone else but YOU (Pm for special request) As courtesy to Nitrouz since he was the 1st one to request, he will be reserved for the 1st hood. 1) Nitrouz* 2) 3) 4) 5) http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...z/1a706ed5.jpg http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...z/ad271ca3.jpg http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...z/ca55ab5f.jpg http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...z/427be092.jpg http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...z/32d3693a.jpg http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...z/adbd9eba.jpg http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...z/fd1d5880.jpg |

Hood looks good, but would be even better with some vents that curved to match the lines of the hood angles and car a bit more, its a bit too angular for me vs the rest of the car. Def better than the VIS though which looks "hole-punched" out.
|
I want it but I already spent most of my mod money!:crying:
how long will this gb last? |
I think Isamu might be interested
Wouldn't it better if you would have named it Docaam version rather then V1 lol anyways still love you guys |
hot hood... could we send our factory hood to u? to reduce cost of buying new hood?

Great looking hood!
|
too bad it rains on the east coast...
my buddy has the VIS hood and every time it rains his car putters and drives like shlt... unless its a garage queen on the east coast its not ideal... I personally love our stock hood though, but that ones the nicest so far I think |

I would be down only if you could use my stock hood. Makes no financial sense NOT to get it down that way. Possibly UA will offer this deal as well so those of us in the US can do a hood swap?
|
Is there any way to keep water out of the engine bay?
|
oh my ******* god want.
|
CS... is it possible to design such a way that when it rains, the vents has a proper drainage that would flow away from the intakes? Just a thot...

My suggestion to people buying or CS would be to keep the design but make the vent smaller:tiphat: for people worried about water. |

Vented hoods are mostly done for look and to reduce underhood temps and getting water is always a possibility. We have designed many vented hoods for sports cars, never had a single issue with rain or whatever else. and the intake filter element was sitting pretty much directly underneath the vents. EVOs and many other cars have vented hoods stock, and they have no issues with water (not excatly the case here but just an example)
We might come up with an idea to cover up the vents temporary and can be removed easily but as of now this hood will be sold as is. :driving: P.S, all PM's replied. |

Nice hood guys, in for more installed pics! |
So after a long back order Nissan just delivered us a couple of hoods. We saved no time and started working on the inserts/vents right away. More pics to follow...

Damn, more and more hottness.
|
Would you sell just the fiberglass inserts so I could have done locally? Thus saving me more money from buying a new hood.

We might offer the inserts at a later stage once we get the frame properly removed and just vents ready for moulding. |
