Height wise, I could not be happier with my Bride Stradia II's. Not sure how it would be if you were a few inches shorter but for my height (almost 6'3) they are perfect. Plenty of room for a helmet now

I sat in that and hated it! Forza was more comfortable but it's still a racing seat.

What about it sucked? Im trying to find a local dealer with some seats so i can test sit them.

Hard as a rock! Even though they say it has padding and in pics you can see the little pads everywhere, you can't feel them. They're like 1/2" thick. Like sitting on wood. The forza padding is like 2" thick. Much more comfy even as a DD. I hope the forza sport FIA feels the same.

I doubt that would work, at least not correctly and firmly. The FX1 apparently has holes(+threads) for bottom- or side- mount options, but you still need some kind of adapter/bracing/base -type stuff to go between it and the car. If you use the mfg's own brackets, it's a slider base that adapts between the 370Z floorpan and the side-mounts on the FX1.

You could start with any of the normal seat bases for our car (theirs, or Sparco's, or Planted, etc), and drill holes matching the bottom holes, but as you said you'd lose some angle adjustment unless you shim them. Shimming them safely will probably require more than a random set of washers, too - maybe make some wide shim plates of aluminum.

In any case: no, the "bottom mount" holes on a bottom-mount-able seat are not meant to bolt directly to the floor of the car. They won't be anywhere near the same place as the seat mount holes in our car, and both the seat and the car have threaded holes, neither has a bolt :). Something goes between the two. You could custom-fab that something to minimize height, but it might be easier to use one of the bases listed above as a starting point and just modify it.

With the price of a bent sold bracket I'm just getting the metal and having it bent. Ill drill my own holes for adjustment and such. I'd prefer aluminium though but you can't bend t6061 without cracking. Not sure I want a 90 degree weld either. What to do what to do.

Anyone have close up pics of solid brackets? Side or bottom. Need ideas how to fab.

If anyone in southern CA has Recaro seats or better I'd love to see them. I worry that I'd be giving up too much comfort.

If it warms up enough to get the race car out of the garage and the 370 in I'll snap some pictures of my custom mount. It's a chopped up Planted base leveled with steel... There are a few pics of it mounted in my build thread (maybe in here too if you look back a ways) I'm 6'5" ~200lbs and all legs so I'm as far back and low as possible.

So you're my height, how do you find getting in and out of the Stradia II? And are you guys using the "genuine" JDM Brides or the Tees ones? I think they'd be the same but no harm asking.

I was originally after a Recaro Sportster seat with an airbag, but it was going to cost me $3500. If Stradias are **** for a daily I'm now considering Vorgas, but I can't find any info on how low you can mount them (solid mount on planted base?? Bride MO rails? Anyone?!). I want more headroom.

IIRC they are the MO bride rails. I will double check on that for you. They are not the easiest to get in and out of but I am getting the hand of it and it is not so bad now. Just have to alter the way you get in the car. There is DEFINITELY a considerable amount of more headroom. Also, once you are in the seats are very comfortable IMO, especially considering how much they hold you in place

I'm using the "genuine" bride seats. I think they are the same minus the price, haha. The real ones arent cheap, you're looking at over $4000 for seats and rails. Im not sure what rails I have (i can check later), but they sit much lower than the OEM rails. If your interested in real Brides, send a message to Mark at RavSpec (forum sponsor). Yeah from what I've read you're only buying a brand really, but I get that, genuine article is always cool. I bought Work Kiwamis for the real deal, but $2000 for a seat is a bit rich when the Tees ones are identical. I only want the driver's seat anyway.

In your opinion, with bride rails would the Vorga sit almost as low?
