I just wanted to share some pictures of todays installation - SPARCO EVO3 Full Bucket Seats combined with BRIDE seat rails !

what are you doing with your old seats?!!?
looks good, but why did you choose to get rid of heated leather for cloth |
Your leather is super dirty! The new Sparcos look great, did the seat height drop compared to the stockers with the new rails?
|
Looks great!
|
You do have harness' too right? That bucket seats gonna make it hard to use the stock seatbelt isn't it?
|
...what? top of the pic...
http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._6786507_n.jpg YOU DRINK IN YOUR CAR?!????? MADNESS!!!! |
Phelan :gtfo2: You fap in your car!
Oh no? Then where did those white stains come from on your seat... :icon08: :bowrofl: :roflpuke2: |
Love them. How much to they weigh?

yes, sometimes I need to drink, even in the car ;-)
the new SPARCO seat including the BRIDE seat rails and nuts, washers, etc. weight about 30pounds compared to 41pounds for the stock seat assembly. So if both are swapped you save over 20 pounds sparco vs. stock. the main reason for the swap is that the stock seat doesnt do any good at the track. Even the GTI seat in my parents VW Golf give better side support. the stock belt can be used no problem as the BRIDE seat rails feature a mounting point for the stock harness lock. But I will get a harness bar soon together with some 4point SPARCO 3" harnesses. the seat position is about the same as the original seat in the lowest setting. There is no way you go any lower than stock at least when you use bucket seats with side mounts. Maybe the BRIDE low max would be a little lower, but those were far too small for me so I had to get the bigger EVOs. Chris |
Looks Sweet! Are you planning to get the passenger side as well?
|
nice~
|
I bet your having a hard time closing your doors arent you...
|
nice. i can't wait till my seats come in.
|
Looks good!
|
looks good any plans on selling the stock seats lol
|
no I will keep the stock 40th anniversary seats in case I ever sell the car. I guess not everybody likes the racing seats ;)
and yes, its a bit tight closing the door - maybe I should have bought a little smaller seats but then again, it would not fit my body mass index *LOL* of course I will also change the passenger seat but first I need to modify the L-bracket for the Sparcos so I can use the very lowest mounting points to give me a little more clearance for the head or better say for the helmet. Currently I only have about 1 inch clearance. Chris |
Looks good, I have been thinking of changing my seats out to. But now just the drop in weight makes it worth it.
|
What's that "Switch" (not sure what it is) behind your driver seat in the second picture?????? (its on the plastic trim/molding behind the seat)

Its not present in my 6mt 2010...that's for sure.
I see the OP is located in Germany with a 7SP auto...I wonder if this is an option we don't have.....PLEASE tell me what it is...the suspense is killing me :bowrofl:...Do the Auto owners have this switch? Trunk Release??? |
I hope you vacuumed before you put the new seats in...

|
yes, it was vacuumed ;-)
this switch is for towing the car with a crane - it disables the factory alarm system so you can lock the car without activating the tow protection. Chris |
So when you say it's tough to close the door, what exactly do you mean? I see the shoulder level of the seat is almost at the weather seal. Does it rub on the door?
As a DD car, I'm not really up for losing my side airbags in the OEM seats. And the heated seats are golden in Chicago during the winter. Sparco looks great though. |

Great seats......What size waist do these seats fit?
|
"Same as the Evo but this seat is 2”1/2 wider. It is an 1"1/4 wider than the Evo 2. The Evo 3 is designed for larger drivers (over 240lbs). It will accomidate a 38-42 inch waist."
Sparco Evo 3 |

the shoulder level interfers with the door slightly so you need to push the door a little to close, but its not that bad. I guess the EVO or EVO2 would be a better choice for those who will not need the extra width. please be aware that you will NOT gain any more head space with this kind of seat (no matter which model from EVO or equal you install) - I have to use the lowest hole in the brackets to have at least the same space as with the stock seats. So this mod is not for tall people trying to get more free space for their head. If that is your intention you need to go with seats that have bottom mounts directly to the seat rail like the BRIDE low max. Chris |
Very Nice! How long did it take for the entire procedure from taking out the seat to installing in the Recaros?
|
if you have pre-assembled the seat with the rail then its an easy job - taking out the factory seat is just 4 bolts, disconnecting the 3 harness plugs can be a bit tricky but no issue at all.
I would say out and in is around 30-45min if you take it easy. Chris |
stock seats for sale =)?
|
looks good!!
|
looks great. i think i would def have to go with the lo max though.... can you get a pic on how close it is to the closed door?
|
Loving the seats! My next mod, maybe!
|
I have currently removed the seats as they are way too close to the door. You CAN close it but then you will have a dent in your door panel. And the lower end is also a little too wide so you cannot slide the seat.
The EVO3 is an awesome seat and I love it but for the 370Z its just too large. I will try out a few other sparco models and measure again but in general the install is easy when you have done it once. Will let you know with which seat I end up finally. Chris |
just out of curiosity, when you find a seat that works where are you going to get a harness bar that is safe/functional? I was told options for a harness bar are extremely limited for our cars right now.
