They look sick on the white.
I'm thinking about getting these burgers for my Mag Black one... :icon08: |
well, these are OEM emblems / fairladyz and then sprayed/painted by Spencer. Hes the guy who sprayed my tail lights, did my tint and was also at the march 19 Southeast meet.
and thanks : ) i agree they look great on white. It was actually Spencers idea to do em up like this. |
Looks good!

Dude, when you took the emblems off to paint them, did you even remove all the adhesive? Not to be an ***, but the emblems look like **** up close because you can see the sticky **** that was left. Unless it's old wax that got dirty..?

trust me, they are perfectly clean and no adhesive etc. So yeah, just dirt, if the light came out better or details you can see a ton of pollen on there too. Left the car out for 30 minutes and it was almost yellow : / |
Looks good
I spray-painted mine several times but just had them professionally painted, the paint makes a big difference and should last longer. |

I was doing it myself and it was full of orange peel :owned: |

what is orange peel? |

http://www.briansmodelcars.com/uploa...range-peel.jpg It looks terrible and can usually be sanded out but it's harder to troubleshoot on plastic emblems. |
ahhh. yeah ive had that happen once when i tried painting something.
|
Also if you apply too much or not spraying perpendicular to what your painting.

What was the turn around time getting them back from Spencer?

I drop em off on friday, and pick em up next friday. If people like this, i can get a batch done n stuff. Its not cheap, but cheaper than the ones u buy and IMO better. |
How much for the same rear setup as you?
|
Ill try to get some prices this weekend. Atm trying to find a good/cheap place to pick up the emblems to begin with.
|
Looks great!!
|
So what did Nissan do to cause so much orange peel in the body? :D
Makes me wonder if tinted door handles would look better than completely black. |

The paint on my car is actually in really good condition. Anything you notice is because it wasnt washed for like 2 weeks and had just been driving back home when i took the pics. |

Hello daisuke149,
I really like your pic's of your fairlady Z emblem and the paint mod, color contrast looks good. I am sure after you got that extra adhesive removed around the emblem it cleaned up nice. Also the exhaust looks perfect... I added my emblem a couple weeks ago to the stillen front facia and it required a little extra tweak. Sorry I don't have any "Do it Yourself type close up pics". To install it, I had to get around these two things which took about 30 minutes. The first was that bumper was too sloped compared to the flat metal emblem which caused gaps at the ends. To get the emblem to follow the contour I had to make a couple soft bends in a couple equally measured spots. The second thing was the 3 mounting studs coming off the emblem and the little metal hook like sleeves that slip over the posts which didn't bite/hold very strong. It's not that they were loose but they didn't snap into place sort of speak (a depth thing not a width thing). The thin metal sleeves come with two fish hook like spikes, and at first I thought they were just there to make a wedge like fitt, but then realized they would have worked with the stock bumper, but the stillen facia is a little thicker, (maybe a sixteenth). So to resolve this I just had to shorten the hook points by that amount and bend them out a little. After that they clicked into place, then added adhesive and the emblem made a secure fit. |

Guys got alot of stuff to do at one time, which saves him time and cost so gonna see if that can translate into slightly cheaper emblems too. |

Very interested.

Alright Guys, sorry it took me a bit. Been a bit busier the last few weeks.
We'd be looking at around 60-65$ per emblem. So what is avail is: Nissan Front Burger Emblem Nissan Rear burger Emblem Nissan Fairlady Z emblem We can go a shade or 2 darker/lighter. I havnt checked into the NISMO or the 370Z yet but will do so on Monday. All the emblems are NEW OEM emblems so they will have the OEM 3M tape. |
Bump for pricing. Don't forget the NIsmo emblem
|
hey how do you take out that rear or front Nissan logo? is it just double side taped or screwed in??

But yes they are 3m double sided taped. No screws. |
