I want to buy this rear bumper but i live in Panama and I know there is a chance the bumper will deform during shipping. And I don't plan spending extra money on making it fit...

Was it a lot of work to make it fit nicely? what was needed to work on?

The actual fitment is great, but the bumper does require a lot of work if you want it to look like mine. The quality is there, but your installer will need to make some custom brackets. My installer is top-notch and usually works on Ferrari's, Porsches, Lambo's, Aston Martin's, etc. He just went over the top on quality. You can tell because the paint is near identical and that is very hard to do with the pear white. My installer also did another clear coat on the carbon fiber.

In the actual bumper itself, there is a part where the license plate frame is that was a huge hole. My installer created a mold from my OEM bumper out of fiberglass to fit in that area so it would be as close to OEM as possible. Not only does it look great with the plate off, the plate is tightly secured and doesn't vibrate.

He also made a custom bracket for the trunk opener which actually sits more flush than it did on the OEM bumper. I will try and get some pics of that for you guys tomorrow.

Do you have any issues w/ the F.I. tips touching the bumper? Mine is a tight fit w/ the amuse...probably have to get it adjusted at some point.

I went w/ a different paint scheme too...left the entire center section CF (license area and bra strap) - looks like a big diffuser, haha. I'll have to get some pics up soon.

I'm going w/ the Mine's add-on as well...may paint it PW though, not sure.

Keep it going...looks fantastic!

^^Forgot to answer your question about the F.I. exhaust. I have no fitment issue with the exhaust. The tips are very close to the openings but absolutely no problems. I can take a couple of pics up close if you'd like. I do not think my installer had to move the tips, but I know he did loosen them so he could clean the area around the mufflers so maybe he re-adjusted them to fit flush. It looks great though. I did some heavy pulls today and I did not hear any vibrating or clanging so I'm good to go.

I wonder how much/what kind of work is needed for the actual Amuse rear?

Thanks man. It took about two weeks and lots of work but it was worth it. It did come out pretty good.

SeeyaBud86 03-19-2011 10:02 AM

Here are some pictures of the trunk opener. It sits very flush and is a lot easier to get to on this bumper.

Here is a couple of pictures showing the fitment with the exhaust.

And here is a picture of the top of the bumper which you see when you open the hatch. My installer did an excellent job keeping it close to OEM looking and clean.
