Excuse my ignorance but there wouldn't be a conflict on a 2013 correct? As far as the body is concerned, I'm 99.9% sure there is only a change in the front. I contacted the seller on Ebay and he told me to ask the dealership. Figured you guys would know more.

Should work on 2013.

Wow, I have not checked this thread in a long time. I'm glad you guys have had success with them.

I orderded mine on a Tues night had it by Fri night. Fitment was perfect and perfect color match. I think it was the same seller got it for $129 shipped.

It comes with double sided tape all around and in some sections in the middle. Also 2 screws to drill into trunk. I actually didn't have mine drilled, I just put it on myself after a lined everything up with just the 2 sided tape its fitted with.

Spoiler is real light so issues with hinges.

Can the mods change the title to eBay spoiler and why you should buy one? Lol

Just so we lessen the amount of threads asking if the eBay spoilers are ok

Just ordered mine today, should be here in a couple of days. Hope I get the same positive results as you all. Will post pics after the install.

So how is the double sided tape holding up??? I'm not thrilled about driling holes.

I bought the same spoiler and I'm also waiting til spring. My car is Platinum Graphite and the color match is very close, but not perfect. I think it's close enough though. My concern is that there are only four bolts to hold it in place along with the tape strips. I think the OEM spoiler has a lot more bolts. I think. Think it will be a problem?

Not sure, but I know what might help along these lines. There is a weight that is mounted under the rear hatch that probably weighs about a pound that you could remove to partly make up for the weight of the wing.

I notice he has a 2011 - I have an early model 2011 (does have the SLU). I went to remove the weight in the rear hatch, only to find there was no weight.

Its $80 to ship to Canada.... :'(

Can it be installed without drilling it and using extra 3M double sided tape?

Dlm6568 03-04-2013 06:31 PM

Just got mine today, color looks spot on!

Waiting for this weekend to install waiting for some better weather.

Question: how do you prevent from rust developing around the drilled holes? and what leaking around the holes how do you prevent that from happening?

thanks

Rust will not be a problem--the hatch is aluminum. But, if it makes you feel better you can always paint the freshly drilled holes with touch-up paint. Just pick up something close from your local auto parts store. It does not need to match perfectly since it will be hidden anyway.

As for leaking--I have not installed this on my Z, but I have installed "ebay" spoilers on other cars I have owned over the years. I am a bit OCD about preventing leaks. On the other spoilers I have installed, I used a rubber washer between the spoiler and the trunk lid, with a bit of silicone sealant between the rubber washer and the trunk lid. Inside the trunk I used more silicone sealant (much more) and a larger fender washer. I finished up by encasing the entire bit of hardware inside the trunk with even more silicone sealant.
