NewYorkJon34 03-12-2011 10:47 PM

Ya, I'm just waiting for the finished project, I told Tony there's no rush on these as he's been pretty busy with other projects.

True true ... :iagree:

Can't wait to see these finished. Have you looked in to (what I can only assume would be a huge undertaking) CF-ing the rear lights to copy/match the fronts? Wondering how that would look??

NewYorkJon34 03-16-2011 01:05 PM

Why would u want to carbon the taillights?

tsolin01 03-16-2011 01:11 PM

I don't think the stock red lenses are going to make it look good. You could get the JDM tails and carbon that. Wonder how that would look.

:iagree: That's what I mean. It's just a thought, I wonder if someone could PS that to give a rough idea if it would be worth it or not...

I think that might be pretty cool. I've heard the tails are really tough to open up though.

Carbon Fiber Element 03-16-2011 02:08 PM

I actually thought about that this morning driving to the shop...Getting a set of the clear altezza kind lights....and doing the cheapo chrome looking inside in cf...would be kinda hot i think. and keep the red lenses.
Hmmmm...

Here are some more pics...The lenses i have for these are beat up and i want to talk with the guys at 180 about possibly doing some led work in these....But here is a little assembly.

Simota has opened his tails and pianted some of them. I don't remember if he said it was harder than the head lights are what.

I heard rear are cemented not like headlights which you heat and pop it open but would love to know how to open rear ones

KaienZ34 03-17-2011 12:28 AM

I'll ask sim and let y'all know what he says. :tiphat:

ONEighty 03-17-2011 12:49 AM

The taillights are melted together, you'd need to cut them apart, and then plastic weld them back together... it's extremely tedious, and VERY easy to fck up on.

Tony, hit me up tomorrow if you want anything done to those housings. We just received a shipment of LED Halo's with clear casing so they look super OEM and fit the projector shrouds so snug, almost as if the factory made them and forgot to put them into the headlights before sealing them up lol.

KaienZ34 03-17-2011 12:56 AM

MMmmmm:yum: OEM look

docaam 03-17-2011 06:02 AM

sorry for going offtopic, so there is no DIY top open the tails?

KaienZ34 03-17-2011 12:58 PM

No, that was just me being incorrect. Sorry all.

Carbon Fiber Element 03-17-2011 04:55 PM

So the pair of these are available and looking for a home...after I finish the 2nd one that is. Probably next week. The guys at 180 will offer led work and also the opening and resealing of the lights. I can change the color of the pieces in the lights to fit the buyers wishes...like I said, available sometime around the end of next week. Anyone interested PM me...Serious buyers only please. Someone looking to get them for 100 bucks don't waste your time. Just for the cf work im thinking somewhere in the ballpark of a grand, but can be discussed later.

Final price...$1000 for the carbon work on the housings. These will act as an exchange piece so buyer does not have to wait for the work to be done if they were to ship their own. The pieces are now done in a matte gunmetal, but can be changed upon request. That is price for just the entire housing. Any led work or opening/sealing of the lights can be done by 180 customs at their normal charges. That can be worked out with them.

370z owner 03-18-2011 07:49 PM

ok man sounds good ill get back to u hopefully soon
