Ok here is all I can find on the bulbs.. If you can figure out on how to order them I would recommend it.. I am using the bulbs and they are great.. They are great quality and look fantastic. I think they are better quality than the factory bulbs. The contact points are gold plated and the bulbs just look sturdier..

RIGG : HID : 35W ???????????

I had to do the google translation to read any of that..

jpit 02-15-2011 10:20 PM

Here's what they wrote "We do not carry the Rigg bulbs, but our Morimoto's are very close in terms of performance, precision, etc. Virtually identical stuff here- is there a particular reason you're after the Rigg's?"

Well when I ordered the Morimoto bulbs, they wouldn't work, just flicker and turn off.. I called and he (retrofit source) said that I would need to modify my
bulb connector to accommodate the bulb. I was told to slightly bend the metal prongs in with a screwdriver so they would make contact with the bulb contact point.

I sent them back and he sent me the RIGG bulbs..

These are bulbs work perfectly - 5800K, bright and clear.

Hoen high performance halogen

Anyone have luck in finding a shop that carries the Rigg 6000 bulbs? Retrofit source told me they don't sell Rigg bulbs as well.

JAKES Z 08-01-2011 12:06 PM

Has anyone tried Halo brand D2S HIDs?

I bought these, but haven't installed them yet after reading about all the flickering problems people have been experiencing when installing aftermarket HIDs.

One of mine flickered off when I started the car... but now (after about 6 months of using them) it doesn't do it anymore.

Since it quit doing it, I haven't had any issues with them.

No idea... got them as a Bday present from the GF.

Probably something cheap and unreliable. :icon17:

USDM PIAA 6,600K (19994)
Flickered one second on very first turn on. No problems since.

MM-370 09-30-2011 08:26 AM

Anyone know of another place besides retrofits to get RIGG bulbs?

Ron 09-30-2011 08:31 AM

Nope. I gave up looking for them.. ur 2010 should work with just about any brand though. The flickering issue is just for 2011 since there is a difference on the ballast

Thats weird, ive been having the same problems, i bought NISSAN 350Z 370Z D2S HID HEADLIGHT BULBS HI+LO BEAM 10K | eBay

And i have to turn them on and off 2-3 times before they fire up! Sucks because i like using the auto light function!

MM-370 10-01-2011 10:51 PM

Riggs bulbs

Retrofit just contacted me and said:

Thanks for the inquiry.

Unfortunately, we no longer sell RIGGS bulbs. If you're looking for a bulb that works well with the OEM Nissan ballast, the new Morimoto 3Five bulbs do: D2S: Morimoto 3Five (35w) - HID Bulbs from The Retrofit Source Inc

So these Morimoto ones dont work aswell? Looking around for a few easily accessible bulbs that work with the OEM ballast is abit of a challenge, especially here in Australia where everything is overpriced!

mrcoolguyface 10-08-2011 09:00 AM

Was on the fence but now its a NO

I was looking in to going with an aftermarket bulb as well, however reading all of the problems you guys are having with these... I think I'll save my money and stick with OEM! having a Z with a lazy eye would bother the hell out of me, and the horizon issues would as well.. So OEM for me!

I bought Phillips Ulitinon 6000k, they work perfect and dont have that lazy eye problem, trying to find parkers to match them!

Synack 11-07-2011 10:35 AM

So after reading this entire thread I still am not sure what to go with. I want a bulb that is 5000-6000k. OEM or better in quality and none of that flip the lights on 4 times and flicker stuff. I have a 2010 so it should help I believe. I'd like to spend <$100.

lauj 11-08-2011 12:19 PM

Im using D2C 8000k and ordered it from ebay. it was 20 bucks for me. And nothing wrong with them. It doesnt flick either.

cossie1600 11-08-2011 06:15 PM

8000K is freaking blue as hell. How do you not get pulled over with that stuff

lauj 11-08-2011 10:25 PM

The one I have is not that blue. Just a tint of blue. I'll post some pic this week.

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

Can you point your headlights at a wall or a garage and take a pic? I wanna see this color. If it's like 6000k then I'll get it. Even more so if its somewhere between 5-6000k.

lauj 11-09-2011 09:09 PM

I will take some pic this weekend in my garage on the wall and post it up. I think different brand have little different temp color.

This actually not that blue. It look a little bluer on camera than look in person. You wont get pull over by that.

Well unlike some other I'm not going for a whole lotta blue. I basically want pure white with a tinge of blue. Basically 5-6000k on normal lights. Not trying to get noticed by anyone, I just personally like that color the best.

Juruki 11-10-2011 11:31 AM

philips ultinon 6k FTW!

I heard REAL phillips bulb wont go past 5300k. Not sure if it just a rumor or not. Synack, I have a set of 6k bulbs that did not work on my car. You can have them.

Why didn't they work? 2011? Do you want to see if they will work in mine?

90 ST 01-23-2012 01:50 PM

Looking at changing out my blubs also, has anyone tried Vision X bulbs?

kchu221 01-23-2012 02:45 PM

NYBladeZ 01-23-2012 03:59 PM

since we're talking about bulbs anyone change the indicator bulbs, specifically the rear ones? I'm not a fan of the yellow.

does it still light up as amber? It was only after switching cars with my buddy on a short trip did I realize how badly I need rear spacers and hate the amber rear turn signals.
