ROLF. You are absolutely right. I feel like an idiot - a new and an unusual feeling for me. I have sunk to such lows.:shakes head:

After reading this topic for quite a fair bit, I decided to take the plunge and go for it.
Where I live, I couldn't find the brands of fabric markers you guys got, so I ended up getting this...

Honestly the very first stroke was freaking me out, however I just said "screw it, doing it all!" and completed one seat at first. Was really impressed with how much difference this small "mod" made!
The cloth door inserts and knee pads were the toughest as they do absorb the paint and have to be wiped immediately.

Very happy with my "new" interior! Cheap and impressive "mod"!

I'm getting red leather and suede seats put in next week and really wanted the red stitching.

Saw this mod and after going through a few different pen options

The fabric pen was the best option. It turned out pretty darn good

If you don't mind sharing, how much are you putting down to have the red leather and suede seats put in?

Thanks.

Also for those of you that got the Red Uchida dye pen, is this the right one?

How is the dye holding up guys? I am really on the fence about this mod. I would love to know about people that DD their car too, is the dye fading or does it fade when the seats get detailed with cleaner then conditioned? Has anyone had to add more coats to their car after 6 months, 1 year, or even 2 years?

You had any problem with fading or the dye coming off?

Dragon_Ball_Z 11-02-2015 06:51 PM

Tired this today and was really disappointed in how it turned out. It actually came out looking really really tacky in my opinion. When it is wiped off it leaves a green tint on the black leather. Won't be doing this mod. Good luck to everyone else! I used the Uchida pen if anyone is curious, red is the color i used as well.

Sounds like you applied it pretty heavily if you were getting it on the leather. Mine looks great and it's been over 5 years...

Dragon_Ball_Z 11-16-2015 08:34 AM

I didn't to be honest. I did light coats but when you wipe your leather turns green if you look very closely.

Which method will match the nismo red stitching. I’ve got a bunch of nismo pieces to install. Most of the stitching. But there’s no way I’m paying 2k for the red stitch cubby.

2015. That was a good year.

Still the best place to ask the question tho.

It was also a simpler time.

Let's keep this bumped up maybe I'll get an answer

cooltoy 02-05-2023 05:38 PM

Considering most of the people in this thread have not been around for several years - I doubt it.

Falconquey 02-05-2023 08:04 PM

I was younger in 2015.

2015 seems like it was eons ago, even though it's only been 8 years.

How many leap years have we had since 2015?
