Changing red background color

I noticed for the Z that all the background light (the light that illuminates the buttons at night) is red. Is there any simple way of changing this?

On the older cars it would just be one main light behind the dashboard that illuminates the button area, so I thought replacing that light would do the trick.

Dash illumination is amber. The light source is surface mount LED.
