Custom 370Z Instrument Cluster Colored Faces

For those members who have been contacting me regarding where I found the 370Z yellow-faced instrument cluster here is the Japanese company translated link that does these: MOBYDICK (don't laugh this is the actual company—and you asked)

Direct translated link to their blog with the 370Z's instrument cluster: MOBYDICK Blog Link with 370Z Cluster

They are working on bringing the Z34 to fruition.

I would go for it if the RPM gauge was red, but it does look very good!

phelan 10-13-2010 07:05 PM

from the blog:

http://moby-d.sakura.ne.jp/sblo_file...CIMG3696_2.JPG

oh my god, what have they done?!

with that said, i scanned through the site, and he doesn't have it up as for sale. i think the cluster is a one off, and it sounds like he was only half-happy with the outcome (i guess he wanted something clean and flashy, but couldn't fit it into the instrument cluster).

kind of fun to look at, but i think i can do similar / better if i wanted to by getting my own instrument cluster and modding it to my personal tastes.

yeah, i'd have rice bowls in the background. and maybe a girl hugging a pillow

doubleG370Z 10-13-2010 07:09 PM

They seem to have some good color choices. Red or burgandy may look good on a Nismo. I'm liking the greys and silver, but carbon fiber would be the sh*t

kenchan 08-07-2013 01:08 PM

if they can do the simota overlay (fuel guage) in CF or even dinoc would be great for me. :p

honestly the rest of the gauges look fine to me stock.

I'm going to contact them about that. They do show CF for other applications, just not for the 370 Zed. I'm sure they could do it for the guages and maybe even the fuel/temp guage since they have the template. I'll post their response ;)

that would be cool. DiNoc CA-421 would be my choice

thanks.

Forgot about this thread :icon17:

sparky 08-07-2013 10:40 PM

Sub'd.
I agree with Kenchan, a Dinoc fuel overlay would be nice.
Some days i look at that display and want to grab it and try to pull it off and mod it, but if it breaks.....:shakes head:

kenchan 08-07-2013 11:19 PM

hey sparky- a member here mentioned that he just gently pulled it off the cluster. there's a few tabs, nothing else.

if i can get a dinoc overlay, i will probably pull that cylinderical piece off and paint it matte black before applying the cf overlay. :D

O no, I just meant you'd make one for you, and one for an ultra close friend whom would never reference themselves in a post...

Just a quick sample of the CF from their site. I sent an email, so waiting to hear back. I seriously doubt Di noc will be in the picture as they list their product as: •Printed and cut on transparent vinyl plastic for a perfect fit and allows warning lights to show through

I also asked about an overlay for the fuel/temp gauge and possibly the 3 dash gauge pods (oil, volts & clock). Doesn't hurt to ask ;)

cool, thanks. i suppose if it's going to be just vinyl black, if they can do matte black, i'd still take it. i dont like shiny on my interior stuff. and that faux CF looks kinda :ugh: like hydrodipping overlay...

cinellipro 08-08-2013 04:17 PM

no shiny stickers

gauge cover can be pulled slowly out. Held in place by four tabs.

FPenvy 08-08-2013 04:23 PM

i wonder if they will have different color choices and possibly stock exterior color options as well.

who am i kidding if i ever switch out mine it would be for CF lol

pfdaxe 08-13-2013 02:08 PM

Ok fellas. This is the response I received from whitegauges.net:

"We are not able to do the carbon fiber for this vehicle. This is because of the way the lighting shows through.
Also, we do not have the center pod overlays yet. We need to find a cluster or face plates in order to to duplicate the overlays for the stock gauges.

I do apologize that we are unable to help you."

I received an email response from this company about making overlays, and they stated they could do it. However, they are very pricey :shakes head:
