Hey Simota, is your buddy ever going to do a re-spin of the template so that the overlay lines up properly with the "C" on the temp gauge ? I'd like to order another one, my OCD about such details keeps me from doing so until the flaw is fixed. No reflection on you of course, you have done a lot of hard work on this project.

I would also be down to reorder if it will be redone to fit the C better. Looks way better already with the first one and I love it but I would like for it to line up a little better.

I think if I every get around to doing the interior led swap I will actually just paint that piece.

I'm the same as Mike. If you can get it to line up a bit better, I'll order.

In for v2 of the template.

i keep forgetting that i didnt update everyone on this... now my guy said since he only scanned the original copy from long time ago he cant tweak it or it might be off even more... BUT he said if i take out my oem part he could then scan it and it would be most definitely a perfect match with everything.... now my only problem with that is im scared to take out my oem part cuz i might break something... :(

With as many members as are reporting wrecked Z's, maybe someone can salvage that part from a wreck and send it over to Simota in Guam ?

WoW! Did I get lucky? Received my overlay yesterday and this morning decided to put it on. Peeled it from the backing and sprayed some soapy water on it. Put it on the gauge, removed my hand to see where it needed to be moved and it was perfectly placed. Didn't need to move it at all. Dabbed it with a micro fiber and it was done. A couple of really tiny air bubbles that are not even noticeable unless you look close or know they are there. Thanks simota! It looks good.

 your welcome bro

tjlazer 02-07-2012 04:21 PM

It looks too glossy, can this be done in a flat/matt color instead?

Only if you buy the 2013MY Z that comes with it...

But seriously, it's not that glossy, more like semi-gloss or even an egg shell kind of finish.

simota1 02-07-2012 05:38 PM

i think i can do it matte.... but seriously the finish matches the stock gauges perfectly imho

Simota1, Looks like Nissan is trying to put you out of business. 2012 Chicago: 2013 Nissan 370Z Gets a Facelift - WOT on Motor Trend :icon17:

They may want to hire you as a designer though since they have adopted your gauge design in the 2013 model. :tiphat:

simota1 02-08-2012 02:49 PM
