I always thought the key fobs sent some sort of signal to the car but maybe its based on sound since it works through a cell phone. |

I put my cell phone up to my ear and I heard people's voices.

I don't know if you guys know this too but your own body can be used as a extension booster.
I know it worked for my RSX and it also works for the S2K. All you had to do is stick the key fob on your body somewhere or just under your chin or something and hit the open door button. It allowed me to open my car an extra 100-200 feet. |
So any chance this can work to fool intelligent key? Lets say I lost my keys. Could the car be started this way?

this is true. done it before.

I'd be curious as To how this worked, if It did, since your cell runs a low pass filter that only goes to around 3.3 kHz. Pretty sure it doesn't work...

I have done this too, about 4 years ago. I was about 100 yards away from my car (a mazda 3 at the time). I had heard about it before and decided to see if it was real. Told my GF to walk to my car and call me, then asked her to check me doors and they were locked. So I tried to unlock them from where I was, and nothing happened. I held the fob close to the phone and tried again. To my amazement I saw my lights blink and heard the horn, then over the phone she yells 'Your car unlocked! Howed that happen!?' I later banked on the fact that I was now a magician. ;)

You guys.. this can't work...aren't like half of you on here doctors and well educated men and women? There is nothing that would even make someone rational think that this would work.

I am still open-minded about this. Still waiting test results. |
