Jayp03 03-12-2009 11:11 PM

Will you guys be doing taillights too?

Arcangel 03-12-2009 11:15 PM

Those are sick!!!!! I want them

stinhambo 03-12-2009 11:22 PM

My thoughts are that the LEDs should be along the bottom of the cover stretching from the bottom inside right up to the curved lip section on the outside.

nappymike 03-13-2009 07:28 PM

those headlights look bad *** i really want to do this mod

Yeah, I know that the taillights already have LED's. Was wondering if they were gonna customize its look. I like variety :)

tvfreakazoid 03-16-2009 03:07 PM

Just like the Audi's?

Yep pretty much. It will then emphasis the width of the car and because the corners are lower towards the middle of the car than the arches, it will look angry too >|

tvfreakazoid 03-18-2009 04:00 AM

I agree with you on this one. Hope they make kits that are just as good as the audis.

seriously, how is this not a DIY guide yet?

I did this to my RSX, baked the headldights, opened em up, sanded and painted the inserts black(were chrome), re-seal with real tight clamps and sealant, trim away protruding sealeant,walla..........blacked out JDM headlights for 10 bucks insteed of 500

Yes please!!!

I really want to get this done to my car...

Zpil0t6 03-30-2009 08:28 AM

I give credit to anyone that will back your lights open. Its doable but sometimes there will
be a leak thereafter, moisture.

tvfreakazoid 03-30-2009 05:07 PM

yea that would suck if it wasn't on properly that over time it will fog up and moister gets in there.

Zpil0t6 03-31-2009 07:56 AM

i did this with one of my GTO's i made one look exactly as it did before pontiac got hold of it a" Holden manaro." and the front lens are a different shape that fit on the pontiacs backs......so i got hold of the front Lens for a few bucks and did the conversion....

But overtime i saw that some silicone had deteriorated and i had some minor Bumper work and the red paint got inside the lens.... URRGG! No moisture though.....the hole was big enough to let it breathe.....lol. So that was a pain....redoing them and cleaning the paint off the inside.

I would be more worried of the fogging... No carwashes for these conversions guys!

handwash only..

just some thing to watch IF you are gonna do this..

Skorch 03-31-2009 01:31 PM

Only idiots would run their Z through an auto-wash anyway

frost 03-31-2009 02:09 PM

I wouldn't run a brand new 370 through a auto wash, but more power to anyone who wants to. It's not a lambo, it's a $30K car.

I've done about half a dozen RSX lights this way, and never got any moisture in there.

THe key is re-sealing and using real tight clamps to re-seal while you bake them again a little ot get the sealant to "get gooey" again to let the clamps let it all seal again.....

Do you mean the sprayer or the one where you sit in it and the brush hits you?

I have to go to a bay in order to wash mine since I live in a condo but I do handwash it in there, really pisses off people.

I'm talking about the brush ones. If I go to a carwash I always get the handwash. Danny's is great for that.

3rd party handwash can be even worse for your paint than the brushes are. Their dirty towels can leave all kinds of scratches and swirls. The only good wash is the one that you do yourself, in-between I stay with the "touchless" washes even though they kind of suck in terms of getting you all the way clean.

SeattlePhil 04-04-2009 01:13 AM

Now I know what my Z has been missing. Are you selling the display or just making the rest of us feel left out. Wow!

juan05 04-10-2009 11:04 PM

hey how much did it cost you to change the lights?

ssqpolo 04-10-2009 11:13 PM

^^im pretty sure the guys at amplified just did it themselves

juan05 04-11-2009 10:55 PM

how much would these kind of light cost??

arcticreaver 04-12-2009 02:05 AM

i was at amplified today and i saw these headlights myself. damn they look really nice. like SUPER nice. i need these ASAP on my ride.

K20A2_S 04-13-2009 09:21 PM

I'd be nice if the guys at amplified would do a DIY with temps and times of how long to bake em to open them up..............or if they used another method.......

msl82 04-13-2009 10:43 PM

I am going to get my headlights done next week!!

I will probably post up pictures tues, or wednesday. ;)

Hmm I was told those "touchless" washes uses stronger soap that eats through the clearcoat.

How is this going to work,

Are we sending you our headlights to get it modified? If so, how long is the whole process?

or are you actually selling new modified headlights?

Thanks..

nogoodname 04-14-2009 09:37 AM

i think you gotta send urs in to be modified....well at least for now i think

Skorch 04-14-2009 12:53 PM

I hope the prices are reasonable... I really want this mod and I don't trust myself with wiring it all and drilling my headlights alone.

nogoodname 04-14-2009 01:06 PM

^^ I think thats the easy part, taking it apart it the hardest.....you gotta warm up the headlights in a oven to break the seal....then seal it back with having moisture problems

Baking the headlights is something I'm actually not worried about. I've baked the ones in my Tiburons at least 5 times and never had any moisture issues.

TacoZ 04-21-2009 02:28 AM

We got a price on these yet?

shabarivas 04-21-2009 12:43 PM

+1 on price... looking to get them painted black + color matched shroud. DO NOT want / need any LED arrays maybe just change out the side marker to be white + side marker

ssqpolo 04-21-2009 12:49 PM

i hope ur not gonna have RIDICULOUS prices like CinCITY. they did really tight work, but prices were thru the roof! looks good Lou, and cant wait to send mine in
