Hmmm, I like this. Maybe after I change my Interior lights.

kenchan 09-07-2010 01:09 PM

yah, they look okay at night. probably best to wire up on the parking markers as most of you guys did and not use it during the day.

That is exactly what I did and will be running them as. They also look great when the headlights are on but are obviously less pronounced then.

HATED1 09-07-2010 08:58 PM

thanks Christianz, repped!

Chris_1 09-08-2010 12:11 AM

I wonder if MR, or 180 can do something like this in the lights with the landing strip? I like the landing strip, even though its not everyones taste. Possible??

LMBmikeZ 09-08-2010 06:03 PM

Question to anyone who has done this: Do you think you could mount the LED strip about 1 inch farther out from where they are now in christian370z pics....I am wondering if you can have them start there because I know the light starts to curve more, do u think the strip will break? I just want the look to be going up into the curve just that little bit more...........

I am still undecided on these....:(

christian370z - pics look good

Someone (plz) should photoshop a pic of headlights with landing strips done and these done to see what it would look like to have both........

In retrospect, I should have placed the lights so that the strip is aligned with the leading edge of the headlight assembly but I wasn't sure if I would have clearance issues with the bumper so I decided to play it safe. It turns out there is plenty of clearance so anyone who is going install these should mount them up to the leading edge of the lense.

What do you think of this?

Sorry for the crappy pic but my iphone couldnt handle the brightness well..

Attachment 16438

These aren't the GReddy LEDs but it gives the same effect/brightness.

simota1 09-09-2010 08:57 AM

i think it looks pretty ok... but the leds seem kinda bunched up...

It's because Im taking the picture from above to not get the glare and it is where it curves around..

The LEDS are all evenly spaced as its a strip.

Maybe he ment that there are too many LEDs on the strip. The length is right with it covering the entire light, but less LEDs would give better spacing.

Your LED's are "outstanding" where did you get them and, more importantly, are they likely to be lasting?? I await your reply, my colleague,:driving:

W.O.W. 370Z 09-09-2010 11:22 AM

Anyone contact Greddy asking about why the leds dont reach under the parking lamp like their advertisements display?

I cannot get an answer from them. Also I cannot get a return authorization from them !

Thanks mate :)

I had to go this route with the LEDs cause GReddy refused to return my emails even when I have a US address and was going to buy in bulk..

Much happier though - as you can see from my previous link - it is considerably cheaper and just as inconspicuous when off.

simota1 09-09-2010 05:12 PM

yah even me bro... when i tried to buy it it said something something blah blah blah is not supported because of your location?!? i was like really? :shakes head:

holy crap bro!! theyre super cheap?!? one question do they stick on the underside of the headlight? or sit right on top...

I installed them on the lip of the actual front bar.

Looking at it now, I could have stuck it to the bottom of the headlight.. Oh well :(

There's no gap so unless you stick your face right up to the strip, it looks like it is stuck to the headlight.

fairladyZ34 09-09-2010 07:11 PM

i like them but i just have a feeling that leds will get played out quickly. it seems once lighting up one part of the car plays out it moves to another spot. first underglow, then interior, now headlights

:iagree:

but see we only waste like 50 bucks rather than 100 on the greddy ones lol

Hey there, you are "de man" for sure! I just ordered some strips from them yesterday! Will just follow your recommendation! Thanks again, stay safe & keep you Z looking good!!:driving::driving:

LMBmikeZ 09-10-2010 10:50 AM

looks good thx for adding the pics majestik! helps to get a better opinion on them and the GReddy ones......

Now to someone with the GReddy ones installed has any one installed them to line up with the starting of the clear lens so they go slight up the curve on the headlight a little more??????:pics::pics::pics::pics: if possible please!!! this and my illuminated sills are my next two "PLANNED MODS" (cause sometimes you just find a deal you can't refuse....lol)

W.O.W. 370Z 09-10-2010 04:12 PM

I have a feeling they shipped out 350z LED to us 370z, whether in error in packaging or what not. I just got a feeling about it when comparing the pictures on Greddy's website between the 350z and 370z DRL kits.

kenchan 09-10-2010 04:23 PM

majestik- ok, this i likes! well done.

kenchan 09-10-2010 04:28 PM

simota1 09-10-2010 04:30 PM

To be honest, I just got my auto Elec to buy and fit them (as I'm a lazy bugger) and I just paid him.

That was the link he gave me.

Also mine are white, not blue.

Majestik is responsible for my "not" installing the Greddy strips that arrived!! I am changing up and have ordered the Xenon whites from his guys. They look so so much better than the Greddy's! Will post shots after I get them. I am also going to get some Breck HFCs! In for a penny, might as well be in for the dollar!!:tiphat:
