I was looking for a nice front lip for the time being (though Mine's one is exactly what I want but I exceeded my budget for 2010 already :(. I'm saving up for that ) and stumbled upon this one:

Seibon Carbon

So, what you guys think? Yay, nay or maybe?

PS: I did use the search function but I didn't find any threads on this. If there are threads on this, please direct me :)

I don't like how the view from the front shows a curved lip, they should of curved it up then made it flat then curve it down, like how it is on the nismo and varis. The lip looks way too thick from the front view. Good find though.

I agree with you completely then again in this side view, it looks kinda flat, doesn't?

I thought someone already had this on their car so that I can see some real pictures.

Which one do you have?

I wonder if I ask Seibon, they will show me some real pics .....

simota1 08-15-2010 06:31 PM

my front lip is the JP vizage poly lip....

SE 08-15-2010 07:11 PM

Hey AK I can try to see if Seibon will send us actual pics of the lip- we are one of their major distributors.

I pulled the trigger on this last week. SEIBON to ship Monday. I will post some pics in a week or two. I liked this the best as does not appear as "heavy" - some of the others appear like you are adding an anchor to the front- this seemed pretty clean from what i could tell from the limited pics

docaam 08-25-2010 01:21 AM

Do you guys think the design will flow the front? Im not feeling the front look but then from side it looks nice.

hfrog355 08-25-2010 10:14 AM

I want to find an all encompassing front CF piece --> lip and fang cover. I know EVO-R thought about doing one for a bit, but from what I gather, he pulled the plug on it. Anyone else know of one?

AK, are you going to run this with your fang covers? Does the CF match up?

EDIT: I found the Siebon one. Nevermind.

what is this "budget" you speak of in the context of car modifications?... i.... do not understand.

budg·et: an itemized allotment of funds, time, etc., for a given period.

so... you're supposed to set aside money for your car and then not spend more than that? does not compute...

CrownR426 09-01-2010 01:37 AM

AK, Varis cf lip is the way to go!

BGTV8 09-01-2010 03:01 AM

Hmmmm ..... the GT lip is angled up in the centre to avoid scraping the leading edge of the lip as you drive the car through a gutter .... the SR style lip is styled after a race-inspired "splitter" where the lower edge of the lip protrudes a long way forward (just like the "splitter" on road-race car. The GT lip is angled up for what looks like 2/3rds of the width of the car to stop the lip being ground-away by the tarmac as you drive thru a gutter/driveway I think.

It is really difficult to tell from the photo's but I reckon that anyone fitting a NS style lip is going to have problems with steep driveways and so on.

The GT style might be a better option but IMHO it looks "naff". For an explanation of the acronym, please go to

acronyms finder dictionary and abreviations finder dictionary - acronyms and abreviations list, definitions and funny acronyms from medical, military, army, training, business, internet, and emails.

and look at NAAFI where you will fiond the term used .... it is peculiar to the UK Armed Services and denotes "not", "nothing", "sub-standard", "less than useful" etc.

When I need a laugh, I often refer to the businessballs site ... lots of interesting acronyms hiding in it ... be interested in hearing whether the humour transports to demographic represented on this forum .... me being a dinosaur of advanced age and all !!!! The one I like best is WOFTAM ...... very descriptive

RCZ 09-01-2010 09:24 AM

^ Always make me wonder of those lips that are angled up create tons of lift...

Zeester 09-13-2010 05:21 PM

Any updates ? Has anyone bought this for their Z yet ?

SE 09-13-2010 05:29 PM

We had two orders but due stocking and shipping issues that we weren't aware of until the last minute they didn't ship out until last week. These should be arriving soon.

SE 09-16-2010 08:40 PM

One of our customers just sent me some photos mounted on his car. I'll let him come on here and post them though :)

It definitely looks awesome.

370Z JT 09-17-2010 07:01 PM

does the lip lower the front end or does it maintain the stock height?

budz 09-17-2010 07:21 PM

can you post a full front view of the car?

Zeester 09-18-2010 11:04 PM

Yeah, full front pics would be great !

Just got back from Monticello NY Track day- 6 MPG great fun-will post some GoPro mounted on tow hook- GT Lip was functional as well did notice more plant on front end down long back straight - looks great too.

Fitment was very good- easy 90 minute install on ramps- remove factory sport lip to install

Tons of pics from all angles-

Victor was great to work with @ speedelement

I had to remove the factory Sport "lip" which was about 3/8"-1/2" lower than bottom of Seibon GT Lip - so this is slightly higher BUT will hit curbs and need to be careful pulling out of parking lots etc that have good dip before road- just need to be careful and pay attention

I wanted functional plus good look- flowing with car not a complete bolt on look.

Did June track day at Monticello- back straight 1.5 Miles with slight turn and drop off about 2/3 way down- probably doing 135-145 mph- front did feel just a little light as the track dropped away- no problem as just slight turn but I would feel more comfortable if front was a little more planted.

Sept track day (this past Friday- will post some gopro vid latter) same back straight flat out- Z seemed more planted and I was very confident nailing it down the back straight- at least I thought I was getting more down force and Z handled great all day

Overall very pleased with fitment, think looks fine on Z as did others at track-goes with lines & hood "bump"- could almost be factory - not too over the top and seems to work at high speed and is roadable too if your paying attention

Zxces50 09-22-2010 10:30 AM

Only have had installed few days- a lot of positive feedback- everybody seems to say goes with the car lines and looks good.

woodfolk1959 09-22-2010 09:51 PM

The pictures only confirm what I believed all along. That the Seibon lip is a high quality, good looking carbon fiber lip. So, unless my financial circumstance improves to the point where I can afford the Zele front facia and carbon fiber lip, I'm adding the Seibon to my future short list. Thanks for posting the pictures.

Just downloaded these pics- tracked Z after install Seibon lip. This was second time at Monticello and did notice better front down force on long back straight. Functional at high speed and looks good in the parking lot too.

Hey- this lip is strong too- takes a hit and keeps on going. Low speed crash- bumper to bumper commute. No injuries or airbags. Be in the shop for a little while.

FairladyZ10PG 12-18-2010 01:21 PM

Bummer.
