^^^^ the black chrome ones look pretty sweet except they are sooo expensive... i wanted to try actually tinting the factory chrome ones to achieve this look... but i decided to black em out instead....

Equinox, how much did it cost you to get that filled in and painted?

Equinox 01-25-2010 04:23 PM

paint was 150$, I did the labor myself with urethane filler. I estimate most would charge 450$ total.

Worked at a body shop for one summer, and learned a lot. Block sanding isn't that hard. Shaved the door locks on my RX-7 handles too :)

In case anyone needs them, I have orginal factory 370Z emblems that have never been out of their packaging. I only needed a couple numbers so I bought 2 kits and took the numbers out that I needed, I now have "007ZZ" left. They are for the rear hatch. $5 per number/Z shipped. LMK. Thanks. Best way to reach me is prob txt, 913-526-3363.

All of the Z emblems on courtesy parts site all say 350z Front or Rear, 370z Front only.. Kind of explains why there are no rear emblems available for us.

Hopefully Nissan will come out with one.

They did have the black pearl Nissan burgers though.. might be an option..

Also they have the gold Z logos if you are feelin like you need some bling..

they have rear 370 ones now.

The Z Store! Nissan-Datsun 240Z-260Z-280Z-280ZX-300ZX(Z31/Z32)-350Z-370Z Parts: 370Z Exterior

They have silver front Z emblem, and both front and rear carbon fiber Z for 370z w/ slash not dots.

labk888 05-08-2010 01:49 AM

Has anyone installed the carbon fiber Font and Rear Z Emblems from the Z Store on a pearl white, yet? If not, can someone photoshop them for me on a white Z, please?

BTW, they are on sale right now!

Reading some not so great reviews of the carbon fiber emblems on this site - has anyone gotten these and actually liked them?

KaienZ34 05-25-2010 08:17 PM

There just stuck on over the nissan emblem, to get a feel of how they look. Got them like 6 months ago and never liked them enough to put them on.

Look at my pics, it looks ok, but I would suggest not wasting your money....the stupid thing didn't even fit on my back emblem location properly...it was too large, so I had to use a dremel and sand it down. In doing so it also caused a small crack on one of the edges. I'm probably going to take it off and order a black nissan emblem sooner or later.

I removed the one on the front. Some idiot hit my car when it only had 1500 miles on it. I had the insurance company replace the entire front bumper. When they started doing the repair work I paid a little extra and had them fill in the emblem indent and smooth it over. I plan to have the same done to the back.

I agree completely... I shaved my Tit Silver 350ZR of all factory emblems... Reused the "Z" as a 3D overlay on the back glass after tinting nearly black... and installed a Z shield on black field for the front emblem (later stripped off the black background for a brushed look) People would ask "Who makes that?" when stopped at a light. Only reply that made sense - Martians.... I know we are talking about 370s here... So don't flame... I recently sold the ZR in lieu of a 370.. I mainly just wanted to agree with the comment regarding the distaste for free advertising.. That and the OPs Will Munny quote from the Unforgiven...

How can you forgive a fella who is willing to burn your GD house down out of revenge.

Photo doesn't do the brushed look justice... Trust me it looks better close up and in person. Especially after the grill was painted gloss black.. The whole car was an experiment in monochromatic.

I know the company that made these meant well... But I agree with you... Somehow it just doesn't work... But thanks for post because I was considering something similar and your post has helped me make up my mind to the contrary.

IMHO - The front end fairs in a significantly more aesthetically pleasing manner than the rear when it comes to emblem replacement. I think it has something to do with the front being simultaneously flat and angled, vice the rear being somewhat rounded and curved. It's too bad they indented the rear location. Not to lead your imaginations astray...

But I have always been a fan of shaved and smooth.....

on Z car tails... LOL

I agree.

anything decent out yet? under $200 would be great for both:tup:

GingaBreadMan 08-09-2010 06:08 PM

Decided not to remove front and rear emblems since the front and rear bumpers will be emblemless (not a word lol) when I change them. Ztoon just happen to get the same rear bumper I want. That a** is hawt.

Ztoon 08-09-2010 06:20 PM

You're talking about the car,... right?

wolf370z 08-09-2010 10:03 PM

Its really funny... all it takes is one little emblem removal and the rear end is magically transformed to a much cleaner, smoother rear end. I did it as well (in the sun of the carolinas) and all you need is a fine string to saw the emblem off the glue. Then its simply using any acidic fluid to remove the glue left behind.

Much better without it.

dwayne3427 09-29-2010 10:33 PM

Hey this car is really cool and amazing. I liked it very much, Thanks for shairng the pictures.

It would look great on a black Z but kind of expensive.
I will wait for the price to drop.

I have been trying to find every single thread on the forum about replacing the badges, and I think I did, at least the main ones. I'd really like to get rid of the Nissan ones, but there's just not much out there to choose from. From what I can tell most of the options are for the fronts only (although it appears per Modshack that they do fit on the back, almost, as long as it's solid or has a cross bar it should work on the back okay), and they are mostly 350Z badges. The only official ones I can find are just black chrome (black pearl) versions of the stock ones, which I personally don't see much point it doing. I'd prefer something that matches the door handles more.

I do like the ones from the Z store pictured above (which according to their site are literally made from old badges and the new side markers). So has anyone out there actually bought this version and installed it? I like the looks of it since it matches the side markers, but it's quite expensive, especially if I follow Modshack and put it on the rear too. Price has actually gone up since it came out, not down.

Any info from experience with these would be appreciated. Pictures would be awesome.

Cheers ---- Bonzo

Anybody else notice that the FairladyZ JDM emblem feels like you can just peel it off after putting it on? Mine has been on for a month and it seems like the smaller letters can shimmy left or right...

Thechidz 10-04-2011 07:50 PM

anyone have a spare 3 perhaps?

Edit: found one on ebay

I'm wondering the same thing. I thought there was a post where the carbon fiber badges don't fit properly.

TripleBlkZ 10-05-2011 09:45 AM

Should just replace the front/rear ends with amuse and talk CS into molding out the indents

chris90 10-05-2011 11:17 AM

surprised no one has come out with a reasonably priced well fitting alternative emblem yet the car has been out some time now

Just notice that the Z store now has the silver Z emblem for the rear. The Z Store! Nissan-Datsun 240Z-260Z-280Z-280ZX-300ZX(Z31/Z32)-350Z-370Z Parts: Rear "Z" Emblem, Silver Base, 09-12 370Z

When I received my front one, I noticed the box came from some company in Japan, so I looked them up on the internet. I guess the Z-Store has checked it out and found it to be okay. See our e-mail correspondence below.

You'll notice that if you go to フェアレディZ専門店【DATSUN FREEWAY】 that they actually offer these up with lights inside also. If you want that, I suggest sending the Z-Store an e-mail about your wishes, and they may be able to get it for you.

Jon,

I received my order today, so thanks for that.

When I got the emblem, I noticed the part actually comes from a place in Japan called Datsun Freeway フェアレディZ専門店【DATSUN FREEWAY】 , so I looked them up. According to there site, it appears they are now making emblems for the rear of the 370Z. I can't read Japanese, but it looks like the emblems are all labeled with an R in their name. My front one is called Type A, while I think the new rear one is called Type Ar.

Could you check into this? I'm not 100% certain I want this emblem on the back too, but it would be really great if it were an option. Right now there are few options for the rear.

Thanks

Thank you for your e-mail. I have our purchaser looking into the matching rear emblem as an option. From the website it appears that the emblem is something that Datsun Freeway starter to offer recently. From the looks of the picture the rear emblem does not sit well on the vehicle. We would need to receive a sample to test. Assuming the sample fits well we would need to work out a price and the availability with Datsun Freeway. It is something that could take a couple months before we offer the rear emblem for sale. Thank you for bringing the rear emblem to our attention.

Regards,

Jon McCarty
