I guess this is as good a place as any for this noob ?...

What is the point of the 'fairlady'? Is that a special package/body style or part line for the Z?

I know, I know super-noob ? but this will be my first venture into the Z world so just trying to see where it comes from...

Aren't the front and rear emblems the same size? I would love to replace both Nissan badges on my ride with these...

Here's a shot of the 370 rear emblem laid over thebackside of the larger "Z" front one. (The red is the 3M sticky tape) You can see the front is fractionally larger. I'm thinking the larger will rest flush on the bumper, rather than being recessed like stock. I'm about to try this when my car comes back from the body shop with a new rear bumper (minus the emblem mounted). If it's not quite big enough to stick around the edges, I've already cut a 1/8" filler piece to mount in the recess and it will stick to that. I'll do an update on this when the car is back.

Fric did you replace the hamburger in the back as well? That is what I am interested in seeing. If not, do you know where I can get a Rear Emblem that fits accordingly?

Its ModShack's uh... mod ;) I haven't done mine yet as I'm wanting to get one that fits the "socket". I'm not clear how ModShack's looks - need a side profile to see how it sticks out or something or if it just fits.

I haven't seen a Z logo that I really like yet. I'd rather have the one ModShack has without the black background and a bigger "Z" even if it goes into the ring portion...

havasuwiley 08-20-2009 07:45 PM

de-baged my wifes 09 maxima,put in billet grill ,it really confuses some people with that new bodystyle ,but the z looks like a z de-baged or not.

.

Not a perfect fit, but doesn't look too bad. You need to grind the alignment studs down. I'm going to consider this temporary until some correctly sized emblems are available..

I took off the 370z emblem and have had the Fairlady Z emblem for sometime now but, haven't brought myself to put it on cause it jus looks so nice without anything .. but, im going to put it on cause for some odd reason after I rolled off the adhesive it left a slight imprint of the 370z emblem !! Anyone else get that? Anyways I voted for replacing it with the fairlady z emblem ...

C3Killer 09-19-2009 08:27 PM

PLEASE HELP!! I need 2 sets of rear emblems. As long as you didn't take a pair of pliers to get them off, I need them. The tape on the back doesn't have to be good, I am going to try and put new double sided tape on it anyway. I'll pay shipping if need be, and if you only have a number or two that are good, LMK! Thanks for looking guys! C3.

MY VOTE IS FOR THE SHAVED LOOK PERSONALLY, but i'm doing something different with the emblems i'm requesting!

I also took my 370Z emblem off intending to replace with "Fairlady Z"
but I just like the clean symmetrical look now. I took extra care in removing
so no marks were left behind.
If anyone's interested in new "Fairlady Z" emblem, its your for free.

C3Killer 09-29-2009 12:29 PM

Someone has to have some numbers laying around! I'm still looking for (2) of the 3's and (1) of the 7's. I have paypal waiting. Thanks.

you saw how mine looked in person. just get rid of it

NYBladeZ 09-29-2009 01:02 PM

call me a freak on details but the 350z and the 370z have two different letter "Z's". I believe the 350z "Z" has 3 holes along it. I know it's the same letter but I'd want a 370z "Z" personally"

GingaBreadMan 09-29-2009 09:24 PM

I removed the 370z emblems only to find 2 holes underneath. The factory didn't do a good job putting them on. Next is the removal of the Nissan emblems. Nissan doesn't pay me to advertise for them.

I got my Fairlady Z emblem in today, but there is no additional glue included. Is the adhesive side of the emblem enough to stick it on? No instructions were included, so I don't want to miss a step.

Followed all the tips today and got it on just fine. A few very minor clear coat scratches, but I was able to wax most of it out.

I believe you said they're overlays for now, but even if they weren't I think these emblems look too big. They draw too much attention to themselves. They remind me of the "easy" button from staples.

simota1 11-08-2009 02:17 AM

KaienZ34 11-12-2009 05:55 AM

yeah i think the rear on may go on for real but the front..... I still want what i've been wanting since i first got the Z for the front flush the nose make it smooth. but there are no real good body shops around that could do it right. anyone know a good place not to to far?? i'm in s louisiana bout 50 miles s w of new orleans

MightyBobo 11-12-2009 07:54 AM

New silver base Z emblem

1 Attachment(s)
The Z Store has a new front silver base "Z" emblem for $109.95.
It would look great on a black Z but kind of expensive.
I will wait for the price to drop.

The Z Store! Nissan-Datsun 240Z-260Z-280Z-280ZX-300ZX(Z31/Z32)-350Z-370Z Parts: Front "Z" Emblem, Silver Base, 09-10 370Z

370Zapper 11-30-2009 02:57 PM

I have seen some rearranging of emblems on other vehicles. Such as a 2500 Ram labeled as a 5200. Different and makes it stand out.

Thoughts on buying a 350 badge (for the '5') and making 357Z for those gun enthusiast? Could be cool, could scare off some people.

TipsZ 12-27-2009 12:02 PM

Hmm .. I really wish there were other options than paying $80 for carbon fiber and $110 for silver. I wish I was just crafty enough to put something over that huge Nissan hamburger .... grrr

TipsZ 12-27-2009 01:57 PM

I saw yours Modshack .. its just that those are the old 350z style. I figured someone would have utilized our new Z versus the 350z style.

FricFrac 01-10-2010 05:55 PM

...and apparently there are no plans to make a rear version - which as far as I can tell if they are making a front its really just a 350Z version....

Exactly.. It looks like all that silver one is this:

350Z "Z" Emblem :: Nissan Parts, NISMO and Nissan Accessories - Courtesyparts.com

With the face of this stuck on there:

LAMP ASSY-SIDE FLASHER,RH - 370Z (Z34) 2009+ :: Nissan Parts, NISMO and Nissan Accessories - Courtesyparts.com

All of the Z emblems on courtesy parts site all say 350z Front or Rear, 370z Front only.. Kind of explains why there are no rear emblems available for us.

Hopefully Nissan will come out with one.

They did have the black pearl Nissan burgers though.. might be an option..

Emblems :: Accessories :: 370Z Parts (Z34) 2009-2010 :: Nissan Parts, NISMO and Nissan Accessories - Courtesyparts.com

Also they have the gold Z logos if you are feelin like you need some bling.. :rolleyes:
