Yes. I just used a red scotchbrite pad to basically removed the shine from the clearcoat. Then I cleaned the surface very well with a paint prep solvent wipe and sprayed the paint on. I did 3 light/medium coats of paint. This paint goes on very well and evenly.

The paint you chose will hold up for some time i did all four rub strips on a MKIV GTI (2001) with the same product, held up pretty damn well, and then i traded the car in... but simple washes kept it clean.

Man, that looks really good! I'm curious to see how it holds up without primer underneath it...please keep us posted.

That helps make that stupid center light look less like a boil on an elephant's ***. Good job!

Yours looks so good that I think I'm gonna do it.
I bought it locally at Sherwin Williams (automotive store) But you should be able to get it at other specialty auto stores that sell auto body/paint supplies. But you probably won't find it at your typical autozone, advance auto, napa etc...

Thanks... and I think it will hold up fine as long as you scuff the bumper paint and prep it well.

Exactly!! I always hated how the center light always looked out of place. People always asked me if the center light was a trailer hitch cover. So I'm so happy I painted the valence. I even painted the fog light cover to match as well.
