Default Clear Bra Bumper Question

Just a quick question for those of you who have had your clearbra put on already. I surfed around and saw pictures everyone has posted, but have yet to find an answer to my question.

I got the clear bra put on my front bumper only. It looks really good and clean, and the installer was an awesome guy.

He said there was two different patterns for the Z. One was a 8 piece pattern and one was a 3 piece pattern. He decided to do the 3 piece pattern and this is what my question is about.

If you check this pattern: http://members.invisiblepatterns.com...]2009_9999.jpg

That is what I believe my front bumper should have looked like. however, if you can imaging half way in between the fangs, there is a line that goes through the left and right of the bumper. I know it is hard to visualize, sorry. The red line represents where the clearbra stops and restarts. I will be posting a pic up in about an hour. Anyone have any pics of this area on their Z with a clearbra so I can compare?

UPDATE: Here are more pictures which describe the issue better. Do any of these look normal?

Bubbles:

Clear Bra Stops Near Bottom:

Dirt Under Clear Bra:

Line Through the middle of the bumper:

With that being said, I have noticed a piece of small hair/ lint stuck under one of the windows not allowing the tint to fully settle, this is something I need to bring up.

InvisiblePatterns has THE WORST patterns out there. They are designed for any amature installer to apply... and you will not get good results with them if you are concerned about looks. Thats the reason why they make their kits in so many pieces... so anyone can put them on. If you want a good job done, get a professional installer and go with a ProForm Design pattern or Xpel's design. They are the best in the business at making pre cut kit patterns.

Mine has the seam you show with the red line. Not noticeable unless you look close. I would a prefer not to have it but not a big deal to me.

I'm counting 8 pieces with the seam on both sides if you include fenders but not hood or mirrors, otherwise it would be 6. What does the 3 piece kit include?

Thanks for the replies. I understand this pattern may not be ideal, but the installer seemed to be very experienced. He had been in the industry for 25 years. Needless to say, this might have been his first Z done. He told me the reason the seam is there is because he did not have a roll of film big enough to cover the area. I agree, the seam is hardly noticeable unless you are up close so it does not bother me. What does bother me is the slight peeling in some spots. He said just to keep smoothing it out and it will finally stay down, but for the past 3 days it has constantly done this in one spot.

Thanks for the pics,

eek I would take it back. Mine had no hair or dust under the bra and no peel ups. I do not think time will heal that. Sorry!

the only hair/piece of lint is under the tint. I know tint jobs should be perfect, but I know in rare occurances that tiny chance of a little fuz could happen.

The installer is going to verify the clear bra installation and make sure the corners are sealing correctly so thats good. I was mainly just looking for what pattern everyone else used.

Looking at the image - its difficult to tell exactly where this is on the car. But nonetheless, I had an issue with the corners of the mirrors pealing (ever so slight <0.25") and the installer trimmed them back . Now it's fine, so no big deal . But if that did not correct the problem, they would have redone the mirrors.

I would request that your VentureShield be redone. In my mind this is not acceptable. The window tint should be redone - I would not except this either. I believe your installer is hoping that you accept the poor product he has sold you. Let me ask you, is there anything wrong with the money you paid him?

I completely agree. And the picture is for the left front fang. The right fang has a little notch/slice taken out of it so it is not peeling. I assume that is what he will do to the left. My bumper had a few knicks/dings out of it already when I got the clear bra, so I did not expect it to be perfect.

The tint however, he claims he will re-do the corner window with fuzz under it. According to him, the back window with a tiny piece of fuz under it does not require re-done and is hard to get perfect due to all the elements. It is not huge, I just notice it when I get real close. Hopefully it all turns out ok

well-best of luck. I hope he stands behind his work and fixes it for you if it does not look right. Your decision ultimately...

Your installer needs to replace the clear bra if there is debrit underneath it. From looking at the photos he did not prep the surface of the car well and left dirt on the paint... it will have to be replaced. The seem lines really should not be there on this car. If he is only carrying 24 inch film then he needs to expand a little. I can tell you he is not an experienced installer and has not been in the industry for 25 years just by looking at his work. And paint protection film has not even been out 25 years. I would have him redo the bumper and make sure you are there when he removes the film. You will want to check around the edges and make sure he didnt "cut" your paint. Doesnt look like he did from what I can see but you never know.

Thanks again for your insight. I don't think he has been applying clear bra for 25 years, but his tint business has been around that long. I will let you know how it turns out.
