Nice job! :D that hole you see where you removed the black sticker... I was hoping I could use it, but was too big. :D hahahaha
|
Steve,
That's excellent! That sure is alot further in than I was expecting on the lower mount, but it makes the strut now almost perfectly parallel to the hood. |
Nice work modshack, I will be skipping the drilling there as I am not doing that to the Password JDM stuff.
Will work this weekend on finding a solution. |
Nicely done modshack.
|
Need to check my scrap bin and make me a bracket like the modshack mod. :p
Anything to worry about hitting under the towers when you drilled? |

Modshack- Great work. Drilling really wasnt in the plan, didnt think Z owners would want to do this. thats why we went to the fender with the simple cut on the rub molding.
as with every aftermarket mod things can always be made better or different. Ryan Prosport Gauges, Inc |
Really thinking of reselling them with the whole buldging and drilling and filling and removing battery cover issues.
I should of just waited :shakes head: |

Password:JDM Dry Carbon Fiber Engine Compartment Covers (Z34 370Z) Version 1 | Password JDM there's no access to the battery unless you undo the tabs? this would be perfect for the modshackmod hood damper setup cause the factory battery/brake cover probably hits the damper when you want to open it anyways. only $299, just drill the damn thing! :icon17: oh, and wtf is this パスワードin katakana? so japanese-style faux. |

er...you beat me to it  only $299??? hey kenchan buy some parts please, you have some cash to spare  i spent all of mine on pillows! |

you better be talking about upper-pillow balls for your KW's or something not some bed bath and beyond girly crap for your car. :icon17: ahem... back to the hood dampers. :D |
modshack- did you revert back to the original bracket orientation for the hood side? (right is now left on the label and left is now right on the label)?

Ryan can you make some for cf hoods?! Would it just be shocks with a lower compression rate?

Alright here's the install/review for the CF rear dampeners!
http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/a...52795183_0.jpg Packaging. The instructions were... uhhhh. Yeah, not really instructive, but honestly, it's a dampeners swap, not an engine drop. http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/a...52796001_0.jpg Stock dampener. The bottom joint seemed to fit just fine so I didn't want to mess with the brackets and whatnot. Be careful removing the stock dampeners; they're a real bitch the first time around. http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/a...52815099_0.jpg (The picture is after I cleaned it all up; it wouldn't stop bleeding for the longest) I was able to put on the bottom joint and slip on the locking mechanism, but the top CF cup joint wouldn't lock into the stock ball joint. So I took off the stock ball (a bitch, as well), but the supplied ball joint didn't fit :( http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/a...52792685_0.jpg As you can see there's a major size difference between the screws of the ball joints. So right now I'm kinda stuck. I tried perhaps using the supplied bracket and screwing it down with the stock joint screw, but I couldn't position the bracket in any way that would fit. I think Ryan may have sent me a front set by accident, but in any case I have to write a paper for Monday, so I can't mess around with the dampener till next week. |
