They have some good stuff for our cameras.

The backpack is a great added feature. Got mine 2 weeks ago....this made the camera complete.

Nice. When you shot the in-car video I presume you use the 720p mode to tighten the shot up a bit? I'll be up at NHMS on Mon/Tues next week with COM.

Here's a fresh auto-x video from the weekend. Very high-speed course for about the first 2/3rds.

Inside car shots - use R5 (127 degrees vs 180) & Spt (Spot) - Spt uses "light intensity" in center of shot (outdoors lite) to better see outside- IF you want interior of car (ie shot of driver) then put on "Cnt" and GoPro will use interior brightness for settings

GoPro Cheat Sheet

:tup:My cheat sheet for Go Pro Settings (word & PDF)

I always use these same settings- the only changes
1. when I do exterior car shots R2 & Cnt
2. interior car shots R5 & Spt
3 IF I invert camera - Upd
---------------------
I never use auto power off so leave setting Off
I do turn off the LCD just to save a little battery LCF

What's "COM" ?? I'm in NASA but they do not have NHMS in the rotation. Short drive for me so would like to try it out.

~ 7 hour drive (with stops) to Watkins Glen but worth it

Sorry COMSCC, see COMSCC.org. NHMS is their home track so they run about 4-5 events there a year and only about 2-3 away events. They run HPDE on Day 1 and time trial on Day 2 for most events. $100 rebate for your first event with them.

Mounting Place

Zxces50 . . .

Nice vids and nice lines.

Where did you mount the camera for the Lime Rock Quick Laps? Were you shooting in 1080p?

Zxces50 05-26-2011 12:50 PM

Quick Laps was mounted on Tow Hook. If you look at Paddock shot in "Lime Rock Go Pro 720" you can see the camera mount on the car (this mount shown was not used in the "720" vid I must have inserted this intro from the Quick laps run

Generally I shoot 720 and post 720 as very good quality and reasonable memory size. On interior shots will do 1080p but post to Utube in 720 only to keep file size down

cheat sheet on my typical settings above

Thought I would add this. Just did a little research since I got mine and I had a lot of wind noise!

Next test I do will be the bottle mod and another good thing to do is to place tape over the mic holes. Might look weird, but you can't argue with no wind noise!
