Rear window Louvers?

Does anyone know if a company has, or may ever produce rear window/ small side window louvers for the 370z? I saw that they did make the side window ones for the 350. I assume those probably wouldn't fit my 370. I'm really more interested in a complete rear window one vs. just the side. Not sure what it would look like, but I like the general idea of it all.

someone who's good at photoshop should deff do a 370z pic with rear window louvers for fun.

djpathfinder 04-17-2010 09:31 AM

Don't do it man...even if there's a kit for it. That's so outdated and tacky IMHO.

Which one do you think will have the better looking trunk mat 30 years from now? ;)

Are We Serious?

Jesse_Hunter 04-17-2010 01:45 PM

Lol, I'm not saying I think it would look fantastic. All I'm saying it that I don't know what it will look like, and I'm not convinced it would look bad.

I want my Z to stay classy, and not look ridiculous by all means. At the same time though, I deffinitely want to do something that alot of people wouldn't do to really make my car stand out. Does that make sense? :ugh2:

The 240Z however now we tint the rear windows. But a nice set of louver might not be so bad for the retro look on the Z.

djpathfinder 04-18-2010 01:07 AM

Louvers look good on the 240Z to 280Z (and maybe the 280ZX)...that's appropriate for the period. But on a 350 or 370? I personally don't think so. Same with an older Mustang or Trans Am. But, how overdone is the louver thing on current Mustangs today? I mean, if you want to do it to your 2003+ Z, go for it...I'm just saying it's not for me. To each their own. :icon17:

BalanBro 04-18-2010 09:13 AM

350z's and 370z's are too curvy for them. They need to be on a car with sharp angles on it. I've seen them on the new mustangs, and I think they go pretty well due to it's shape.

fullmonty 04-18-2010 09:40 AM

I think someone should do a photochop so we can take a look. Or if someones got real big balls go out and buy a set.

G Fo12ce 04-18-2010 09:54 AM

OP don't.

Rear cargo cover and tint....

Jesse_Hunter 04-18-2010 11:24 AM

Everyone makes very valid points, and I appreciate everyone's input on the subject. I would also enjoy seeing a photoshop version first, before I decided to do something like this.

Russian roullette

Lemers 04-18-2010 02:05 PM

In Russian roullette you at least get a one in six chance.

If you are trying to look over your right shoulder, past the head rest and out that quarter window to check your blind spot you are asking to get in an accident. You are better off adjusting your side mirrors properly or getting blind spot mirrors and pretending that window doesn't exist. Also it's a short car with longish front windows.

Jesse_Hunter 04-18-2010 03:36 PM

I have a CDL from driving commercial trucks for awhile, I don't use the rear window anyways, just the side.

rudi 04-18-2010 05:34 PM

I had louvers on my old 240Z. However, they were mounted on the inside of the rear window. Functionally they worked very well and were very unobtrusive.

FuszNissan 04-22-2010 02:16 PM

I don't know about this idea...

Damn spammers bumping terrible threads. At least they could have the courtesy of bumping up better threads.

Cmike2780 06-28-2010 07:13 PM

Stillen makes a lip on top of the rear window, but that's as far as I would go.
