I think I'm going to get one too. So a newb q on programming it... I have a G35C that has homelink and programmed. I thought you had to reset the garage door after you send the signal to it to program (has rolling codes). How do I maintain the homelink rolling code on the G? Do I need to reprogram that car again when I program the Z? |
you will be fine, it will still know the G and any other openers that are programmed.

so i bought the universal one and hoping to get it in a few days. i dont need to get anything else right? no wedge mount adapters or camlock kit?
the kit includes harness and the harness cover. i think it was called Genk45a or something. |
that I don't know, as I bought mine from nissan. It mounted on the original metal wedge that is attached to the windshield.

yah, i guess i'll find out soon enough... :D

That's the exact one I purchased as well
Good luck on the install :tiphat: |
Thanks guys. Yah, the install was pretty easy.
I had to trim the harness cover by about 1", no biggie. The non-dimming mirror was kinda tricky to remove but if you pry off the plastic cover you'll see where the tab is holding the wedge mount. I used my long nose plier to pull the tab up while sliding the mirror off the mount. Was kinda scared I was going to crack the glass if I used too much force with just the screw driver going at that tab. :D I need to calibrate it and program the homelink still, but it works. :) Want to thank everyone who supported with the links and the pict of the fuse junction harnesses to tap into. http://www.the370z.com/members/kench...r-finished.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/kench...20finished.jpg |
i programmed the homelink which was easy and did not screw up my program on my other car's homelink so i was real happy with that. :D
also went out motoring to find a spot to do the circles to calibrate the compass... while looking for a decent spot with minimal visibility from cops (since it would probably look kinda suspicious doing circles in a vacant parking lot in the middle of the night) i look up at the mirror and notice that the mirror calibrated itself.. lol so i guess just drive around the block a few times... checked the zone and everything's good to go. :) got home, cleaned up the mirror and glass and now im waiting for my touring pedals to come in tomorrow via my dealer. :p |
Very nice. A possible DIY? :excited:
