Front Chin Spoiler Protection

I keep scraping the front chin spoiler on my Z. I was wondering if we can add something under the front chin spoiler to perhaps cushion the scraping??

Any ideas?? Maybe put some thick double sided tap or something??

It's better to scrape your front chin spoiler than scrape the bottom of your bumper. :icon14: What one of the members did on here was to grab some sand paper and lightly sand the bottom, that doesn't protect it, but makes it look presentable. I wouldn't worry about it too much though.

You could always change your driving habits. The scraping worsens as you lower your car. I used to scrape everywhere when I first got the car, but now I rarely scrape anywhere. Just know your area and approach all driveways/bumps at an angle. :p

its that black piece of plastic right?

I so want to remove it. I scrape that thing everywhere, and I don't even have a lowered car.

whiddles 04-11-2010 12:36 PM

don't remove it. its like a warning of the bump so you don't hit the bumper

Vegitto-kun 04-11-2010 01:47 PM

It looks horrible and its so big that whenever I scrape it I wouldn't of touched the bumper anyway

whiddles 04-11-2010 01:51 PM

buts its a warning sign for the time you come to a bigger bump or dip that you are not sure of and you hear it back off and find a new way. Im lowered so it helps me

wat you can do bro is actually buy the door edge molding... one long piece and stick it on the bottom of ur front spoiler... the rubber molding will absorb some of the screapes.... thats what i had in the beginning when i super cared about the front spoiler.... i dont care anymore so yah LOL

The spoiler on mine is all messed up but I use it to warn me if I've put the front of my car somewhere I shouldnt of

I can head over everything fine but its always the protector that scraped it.

its sad when your cruising and people are looking and you go over a speedbump and then the thing starts scratching while without it I would of been fine

anybody know how much a new one would cost?

im just going to get rid of it. it just looks horrible even undamaged.

hell it even came half loose once. noticed that when they were putting on my intakes

I have to go very slow and at angle, especially at my work. I didn't get use to it at all. Doesn't matter how careful or slow I was, there is a loud scrape noise - embarrassed sometimes.

Got advise from one of this forum members, just trim the feathery plastic with a razor and it looks much better.
