Haha nope u r just lucky?

I scrape every single day just getting out of my driveway. Going in is fine. If I do a 45 degree angle it barely scrapes, otherwise its "scraaaaaapee....." UGH

I like the looks of it..I don't know what you're looking at :p If you don't like it..get rid of it. Maybe if you paint it, you'll like it more. What'll that cost? $25?!! Give it a try cuz it's a pretty good thing to have. My car didn't come with it..I had to buy it and I love it:driving: But daymn, it still scrapes coming outta my driveway

Lol....that was what I was thinking, maybe add something underneath the chin to cushion the scrapes...don't know how ghetto that would look though...lol.

I mainly scrape entering or leaving my driveway cuz its a lil steep. Lately, I've been good not scraping, guess I just need practice entering and leaving slowly at an angle....

Not sure if someone already said this but you can get a clear, hard but thing plastic molding that goes under the chin (or at least did on my cobalt SS) that stops you from hitting the chin. Im sure any automotive store will have something that you can put on your Z with little fabrication

its that black piece of plastic right?

I so want to remove it. I scrape that thing everywhere, and I don't even have a lowered car.

The sport package cars have an extra black piece of plastic in front of the
one on the base package. It's meant to increase aerodynamics. If you're
going to remove it, give it to me :), mine could use a refresh

i went to my local Ritas water ice and the entrance was steeper than i remembered and i got a nice little scraping sound infront of some bikers.

Well, I certainly scraped the hell out of the front chin lip last night while parking my Z. So mad at myself......grrr.

Just want to make sure my warranty won't be void if I remove the front chin spoiler myself to repaint it?

no they wont void the warranty, and a lil update about my front chin, same thing happened to me in a parking lot :shakes head: so i tried the vinyl instead of painting and it looks really goodl!

Vegitto-kun 04-26-2010 08:35 AM

Why are you repainting it? Just sand it down (1000 and 2000 grit) and cut off the excess and it will look like new...

Vegitto-kun 04-26-2010 02:31 PM

dear god I ****** it up pretty good today. I could pull off large chunks of the plastic.

hilarious

Yeap, I sanded off the scrape marks on the lip. Good as new..:tiphat:

NYBladeZ 04-26-2010 03:00 PM

I've resigned myself to accept the fact that i'll have to fork over around $200 bucks if and when I want a new chin spoiler, but hey that's not that bad

Push370zzz 04-26-2010 03:08 PM

That's basically what it is there for...where's Xzibit when you need him. I don't think they have a chin spoiler for your chin spoiler, so you can scrape before you scrape before you scrape.
