Bullitt, if this somehow gets built, I WANT ONE!!!
It kinda reminds me of a Spider, pretty B.A.
What is this going to be made out of? Fiberglass or CF?
You might consider relocating your air to air intercoolers to those side vents that you have so that you have more airflow to oil coolers and your radiator. That would be a pretty trick setup if you can incorporate all of your components to work in conjunction with one another. Do you plan on racing the car or will this be strictly for show? If you do plan on racing, what type of racing? Road course? Standing mile? 1/4 mile? |
Hey Kyle,
I am debating the costs at the moment for materials. I have some friends that work in the business and a dry carbon setup was going to run me $50k+. so I opted out of that and now debating between fglass, cf and poly. The car will be tracked (road racing) and possibly other venues just for marketing purposes but at this point it won't be a full fledged effort to win every event. As you stated the side vents will be functional and since the car is being TT'd the vents will work great for the turbo intakes and brake coolers leaving the center section strictly for the intercooler and oil cooler. I have done a revision to the front which I think everyone will like ALOT more. It's not as wild but something that could definitely be made into a production piece. I will upload it in a few moments. Ohhh and Kyle, if stillen would be interested on being apart of this project I would not object one bit. I am looking for a company to help make this a reality and I know this is off the beaten path for you guys but it would be a fun and exciting adventure!!! |

ok New Design:

We actually have done wide body kits before. One of my personal favorites was the Mercedes CLK 430 that we built. We don't make them anymore because they are just too expensive to do it right. Mold cost for urethane is very high. For example, the front fascia that we've made for the 370...We probably have around 30K invested into the fascia...Just developing the molds.
Urethane would work well for the fascia and rockers but it won't work very well for the fenders. Unfortunately poly urethane doesn't have the support structure to work well for fenders without some serious additional weight to build support ribs. Fiberglass would be less expensive but obviously heavier and not as durable. CF would be my preferred choice but it won't be cheap. Although you'll be able to save some money with the hood. I am probably going to develop a pre-preg CF hood soon that is similar to what you have designed but we've moved the vents further back to aid in cooling. The reason I mention seperating the intercoolers on the side is because that is how all of the professional race cars run it. That way the freshest air is going to the intercoolers and the radiator seperately. Brakes really just need air blowing across them so I wouldn't put too much emphasis on them. Something simple with a 2-2.5 inch opening will be sufficient. Check out this car built by Jun. I really like what they did with their intercooler/fascia setup...just throwing out ideas... I like the remake more, bullitt-the original kind of screamed of mature "Fast and Furious", but this leans more towards refined power. I like the way this concept/plan is moving along!
I always loved that car! I just wish I had the funds to support it! V-mounts are amazing and I would do that if I could and then vent the hood right above the v-mount to allow the air to flow in the v-mount and then back over the hood... Jun makes a sick car for sure!
a little too asian riced out for my taste
what... the Jun, My 1st design or the 2nd design?
I like the idea of wide body alot, and those hood vents, as long as its not a carbon fiber hood, and minus the wing. I think it would look really clean wide body without the wing.
Dont forget that he is going to track also. He might need the wing, especially if he is gonna reach 1000+ HP.

I think i like your initial design better, look more aggressive on the first design, square-like look. I dig the first design! |
I personally think it looks, not too bad. But.. smooth the fender flares. Don't like the flat edge near the fender wells. And, maybe think something slighly different for the vents on the hood. I think something more subtle may be the ticket. People will stare due to slight changes more, than drastic changes, and it will stick in their heads and they will want it.
At least that is my 2 cents..... |
Ah yes, sorry I don't race. I'm speaking completely off appearance. If it's going to the track I'd imagine you would want it to be as aerodynamic as possible. :driving:
Sketch is good; with a couple improvements, you'll be O.K., dude.
So Bullitt, any updates?
looks crazy and i like crazyy :D

Bump...
nothin?
I love the last design..along with the 350z cf hood design! I'd be all over it!!!
Nope I have started talking to Zele to get full support for all their products
Hood and front end is too much. The wide fender idea is nice, but it needs major toning down IMO....then again it's just my opinion
