Start-Stop Button swap out

1 Attachment(s)
Anyone know if it's possible to swap out the start/stop button for a GTR style, like this one? I emailed a company that makes aftermarket systems, to see if I could just get the button, waiting for a response.
I wonder if the factory GTR button will fit the 370z.

DIGItonium has been dissecting the interior's lighting, and you might want to contact him: Start Button Dissection

Thanks for the reference!

I like our Start button design because the plastic is white, so the LEDs can be changed to whatever color. It looks very nice at night.

kenchan 03-03-2010 12:17 PM

looks like a race car start button. :)

OMGWTFBBQ 03-03-2010 01:18 PM

Haha. Dumb camera phone picture.

Mine!

It'd be easier to just swap out the LED for a red one instead of getting the GT-R ones to work.

Yeah, red LED would be cool, but it still would have the clear plastic look during the day, I like the solid opaque red button, or maybe a solid green with white lettering.
Or maybe I'll just make a billet aluminum one with the "Z" logo carved in it.
The green looks nice at night

I kind of forgot about this one, where did you find that pic? Looks like it's JDM because the button is on the right hand side :-)

simota1 04-24-2010 05:29 PM

that looks super kool!!!!! i wonder if it can fit....

nogoodname 04-24-2010 05:31 PM

Button looks to be exact same. Just use the Z bezel instead of the GTR one, that's all.
Recycling engineering FTW!!

Is there a part # and an idea of cost?
I'm very much interested..

Vegitto-kun 04-24-2010 05:37 PM

Mmmm maybe I should steal my dad's start button now :roflpuke2:

I wonder where you would be able to get the GT-R button? Dealership?

nogoodname 04-24-2010 05:41 PM

Price is not listed where I checked. Call some junkyards to see if they have any. I'm sure there's some crashed GTR's around.

.... so wat does this red one do better than the amber one we got that matches the interior lighting and all? matches your NOS switch or something?

we have no RED inside the cabin and yet you got a red button... (?)

didn't you know changing to the red one gives you +75 hp and +40 torque? it's plastic, way better than stickers!

seriously, some people want it for the look, and who knows? i think the contrast will be a bit jarring, but i reserve judgment until it's done

Hey, that's exactly why I'm getting mine swapped out to blue....it matches my interior lighting!

If our start button came red, you'd see people wanting to swap it for a backlit one. just funny how this kind of thing is. although i think it is cool and i want to see pics.

DIGItonium 04-29-2010 12:36 PM

Not entirely on topic about the GT-R start button, but here's mine:
