ok um yes... led's ordered in my color choice like i said, they are led strips... perfect... here is my question, as mentioned... do i have to take the kickplates off to trace the wires myself or does someone already know where the wires to the kickplates are under the dash in the footwells? make sense what i'm asking?

They are under the sill plates one wire is red the other is white, you won't miss them they are the only two wires going to the kick plate. The Z kick plates don't need to be removed.

Anyone find out if it connects cuz i like the factory solution

Baer383 04-07-2011 10:19 AM

There is no connector you will have to splice into the sill plate which lights up the Z:tiphat:

please no! :shakes head:

That seems pretty rice to me. You should probably put some neons under the car to really compliment the interior neons.

i used to think this too bro.... but then i found out nissan actually makes the mood kit and it costs 250 bucks LOL for ONE led.... thats right ONE LED or well two because one on each side.... the point of this mod is to add a subtle lighting over the foot area not to blind everyone with bright colors under the dash now that would be rice.... im running a 5 led strip not to bright looks pretty nice and better than 250 for one damn led lol to his own bro

Personally I have no interest in illuminating my feet and the crap that collects on my Weathertech floor mats.

Try this link. Had them in my '03 Accord coupe.

I put these into my dad's Chevy in the 60's with clearance lights from the hardware store for a few bucks!!!

Lots more wide-open spaces back then tho'

Have you not been in vehicles that have lights for when you open the door so you can see better when you get in? I see a bunch... even older cars. I don't know about your Z, but mine doesn't have that (which kinda makes me bitter because we pay so much for such a nice car and it doesn't have a stinkin light for the floor area like older and/or way less expensive cars). I think the interior mood lighting looks classy. That type of mood lighting is in a lot of high-end cars now. I just bought two orange LED strips at Autozone for $20, tapped into the Z kickplate, and it looks fantastic. Not too bright, not too dull. They come on when you open the door, and fade off with the dome light when the doors are closed. And now people can see better when they get in my car at night. Maybe you shouldn't let people in our car during the day since the sun illuminates that "crap that collects on [your] Weathertech floor mats."
