I've noticed some headlights that have dark reflector strips to match the housing. I'd like to know a little more information on how they achieve this before I do this

different color reflector strip when painting headlights
I've noticed some headlights that have dark reflector strips to match the housing. I'd like to know a little more information on how they achieve this before I do this mod (remove reflector strip completely and let the housing show? or paint the strip...? Example image below --v

Paint the "chrome" material underneath the reflector for a tinted look. That's what I have with mine instead of painting the whole thing black.
