Dude that's siick! I already have my door panel out for a speaker install. Can you post a DIY? Where do you get the 3m stuff and how much? How did you get all the crevices of the window switch and did you have to take apart the buttons themselves to get it to be that clean? Lemme know soon please!! Thanks.

yes there are a ton of diys on door panel removal. Do a search and you should get some good results.

k's 370z 03-09-2010 07:02 PM

it was simple

thing you will need.....

3m Ni-Doc carbon fiber vinyl.....got it on ebay...make sure its 3m.....

new razor knife.....

heat gun...only use the low setting....

flat head screwdriver thin...

blue painters tape.....

remove window switch plate.....

place blue painters tape on both side of seam where the two pieces come together on the door....(bottom of plate )

take screw driver and insert it between the two pieces of tape a slowly pry the plate out of door socket

un plug wire harness....make sure door is closed b4 u remove the wire harness...

clean entire switch plate.....
take the vinyl and wrap the plate....take your time....make sure everything is centered so the weave is strait when done....
trim out the shape of the plate leave yourself a little material so u can wrap around the edge....trim off excess....

take heat gun on low and shrink the edge and smooth out any area around the top and side....

take heat gun and and heat up the vinyl on top of switches trim out and the switch......

its that easy sorry no other pics for ya...

good luck

did you have to pop the switches out to get it on really good? i can't think of a way to do it without taking the power mirror switch out....

Good Stuff

Wow, I can't believe this stuff wasn't discovered earlier. Its great. I am going to wrap everything in it. Just be careful. It will fade in the sun. It only has a 3 year sun rating.

How in the hell does someone break a b pillar doing a windshield replacement? do you mean the a pillar cover?

I wonder if I can throw some clear coat on top of this?

TongMan 06-28-2010 07:17 PM

I'm looking to do this very soon. I'll be wrapping my b-pillars, side mirrors, front fangs, rear valence, and some interior parts.

Want some fun?... Try wrapping the shift ring.
3 tries for me before I had it down finally.
