Well like many others, my dash cracked badly last year 2024.
I decided to go to the dealer and buy a new one, while they were still available. You have to pay for it in advance. $2k Ordered on Jan 18, 2025. In late March they called and said it was here. Go down to the dealer and the box is the size of a coffin and beat to hell. We open the box and the dash is literally broke in half. The parts manager is frantically looking on his computer and says none are left in US inventory. He lets out a sigh and says thankfully the system let him order another one. Finally on April 16 they call and say the replacement is here. I go down to the dealer and this box looks perfect and it shipped directly from Tokyo (Yokohama) to Oklahoma City. I open the box and the dash looks perfecto. Took me about 12 hours to do the remove and replace. Not really very hard, but still took a lot of videos and stuff to figure it out. One of the hardest steps was transferring the 3 factory center pod gauges to the new dash without breaking something. I think that step took 2 hours. Installed a new Alpine iLx-507 while it was apart. That was a major PITA too. Had to pull the radio out a second time to add a park brake bypass device, just to access the set up screens. Glad it’s all finished.

They are not too hard to do. I have had several complete dashes out to replace the main wiring harness when I was a tech at Nissan. One dummy put a 30amp fuse in a 20 amp slot for the radio. It melted the wires all the way from the fuse box to the radio. LOL I replaced a heater core in a 1986 300zx. That also required the complete dash to be removed. The amount of vacuum dash pots to run all the A/C, heater, and blend doors is crazy.

any idea how much it would cost (labor) to replace the dash at the dealer?

I almost called the Nissan dealers here for a quote on the dash replacement.
Then I asked myself, why pay them to mess it up? They won’t take the time and be extra careful to not break the clips and all the plastic stuff. So, I watched a few videos on line, and it looked relatively straight forward. Not bad at all really.
