hey guys, so actually alliance carbon(same guys i got the fenders from) made the rep for the varis v1. They have great products and i just installed my fenders yesterday

1-2 month wait, 1500 shipped

i ordered it last night, mainly cause of time

I always assumed Seibon, fly1, alliance, all these places got their knockoff stuff from the same factory in China…

I'm to the point where I'd rather wait the 3-7 months for authentic Varis parts and not worry about the fitment.

Most likely, it makes no sense for 5+ companies to produce the exact same set of fenders (sorry, forgot the "newly added" vent to set them apart  )

...or these are the most unoriginal companies I've ever seen in my life.

...actually both :shakes head:

could be...but even then, depending on the quality standards and how much each company is willing to pay the factory, you can have 10 different quality fenders come out of the same factory

the fenders quality are awesome. the weave is awesome and they feel solid and durable. so i guess ill wait and see what this hood looks like

he said delivery is mid january, same time my amuse rep kit will be ready with shine auto. super excited to see it all together

It is true that the same factory can produce products of vastly different quality depending on the amount of effort they put into a particular client’s project…

…but when Seibon, Fly1, and Alliance are all in the same price bracket, i am skeptical any of them are particularly more reliable than the other, and definitely less reliable than the original outfit that engineered something, like the JDM shops

When you are getting the cheaper versions, non Varis brand. You are buying the look of the hood and not the quality. I purchased Fly1 Spec-v (Varis knock off) because I was told the hood was exactly the same.

It's not. The Spec-v hood was 1 ply of CF backed by fiber glass with a heavy amount of resin (weight). Varis, from what I've seen, looked to be complete CF on both sides of the hood.

I sold the Spec-v to someone local because I didn't want it on my car because it felt bastardized. If you like the look of the hood then you will be fine. I had one of the first Spec-v hoods so fitment was fine (verified after I saw it installed). Here is the BUT. ... BUT, keep in mind they re-use the same molds over and over. If the vendor has a billet mold of the hood (doubtful) then they will not have mold distortion. What I suspect Fly1 has is casted molds that slowly distort over time. That is just my theory on why Fly1 is hit and miss.

Bottom line. There's a reason why the hood is cheaper.

thank you for the heads up. its more a track car at this point, (just gutted the inside too) also, the fenders i ordered were great quality, and great fitment so if thats any indicator of quality i hope the hood will be good too

just a cool view of their fenders. imo the vents are the best looking out of the options we have

OptionZero 12-16-2021 02:21 PM

after my Vertex experience i don't think i'm ever gonna go plastic fenders

rolled/pulled OEM or custom from now on

what happened if you dont mind me asking?

OptionZero 12-16-2021 03:30 PM

uneven fitment left/right and couldn't get TRD sideskirts to mate cleanly with them

Vertex is a pretty small outfit, IIRC. See alot less of them them the last few years than say, Varis, which seems to be the hot JDM aero among multiple car crowds

Varis, Rocket Bunny/Pandem, Voltex seems to be the hot stuff in the aftermarket aero game

oh thats annoying. idk it must be a different mold cause these guys pride themselves on perfect fitment and the fenders fit like oem. Im usually skeptical but i heard nothing but great thinga about alliance carbon. the back is fiberglass and not double sided carbon, but it does just fine for a track car
