also just curious as to how many people have actually had an issue....or if everyone just knows someone whos had an issue...

also, the ball bearings in my mirrors came loose, i emailed him and within 2 days he sent me an email back with a video on how to tighten them...just saying....i dont understand how im the only person whos had luck with his items?

Even a 25% failure rate is significant IMO

but its moot now

I have personally met at least 10 people. I spoken with dozens more online. The closest thing to a positive experience with Evo-R for me personally was when I purchased the Z emblems. They were painted but the finish on them was so poor that I was forced to repaint them.

I tried to fix one of his janky mirrors. It had already been tightened too much and was broke when I received it - no response from Jay whatsoever. I sold it to someone who will remain nameless who JBwelded them lol. Bought the Craftsquare mirrors and now happy as can be; the quality is well worth the extra cost to me.

Out of four items that I have purchased (all directly from Jay), I have only received one damaged item. All were shipped promptly.

With the one damaged item, it took nearly 8 month to receive a replacement. This happened after many e-mails.

PS. Sorry, but my OCD could not deal with your post, so I fixed the spelling errors.

That for sale thread is pure gold man.

The Z store gave an arrival estimate of Nov 30 from their shipping company.

It arrived today at their store and they personally called me to advise they got it and were sending it out

All emails were responded to in approximately 24 hours , usually less.

This is why you don't go to EVO-R directly and should use The Z store for their stuff

now, let's see what the quality is like when i get it in hand

I know OZ’s taste is on the finer side and his review will be accurate. I look forward to the follow up.

I’ll also add another hat tip for The Z Store. Great customer service in my experience as well.

I ordered the EVO R carbon fiber vented engine cover direct from EVO R when this item first came out to use at a car show. This was a direct bolt on and is lighter than the Genuine Nissan OEM engine cover. I was surprised the carbon fiber was excellent quality. The ETA for shipping was 6-8 weeks though but I think it was worth the wait. This is a nice item if you are looking to spruce up your engine bay.

I ordered the lower reflector housing about 2 years ago to replace my broken stock one. Web site says 4 bolt holes so figured direct replacement using stock holes. Got part in and it's 6 bolt holes and won't line up with stock ones. Plus part was cracked at 2 of the holes. Messaged evo-r and they wanted me to ship back to then. I had to pay shipping both ways. No thanks. Looks nice. But will not order from them again. I had my hopes up of good quality.

So…this did come in after some FedEx shenanigans at the local office

This is a $375, so I was obviously not expecting some flawlessly executed stuff, and…I meets expectations?

I’ve had carbon parts before, but none that had this much “see thru” in the weave. It really is a thin carbon layer and fiberglass.

The edges on some of the cutouts are rough and uneven. Due to its location, no one’s ever gonna see it
The clear coat is actually clear though, I was worried it would come damaged

Anyways, this is fine for the price, it’s not a $2000 (now) top secret cover

OptionZero 11-28-2021 09:47 AM

Also, i see there’s a Seibon cover as well thats an OEM copy. Its over $500. Dunno what the quality is.

Seems to put the EVO-R in better light for its cost/value

ZontheRocks 11-28-2021 09:58 AM

Nice quick write up.

Now post pictures in the engine bay to close this baby out.

A large round of upgrades will go in probably January

Some engine dress up, an air cup kit, brake ducting and rotor/pads

And then maybe wheels show up in March or April
