The lugnuts didn't strip your studs, you did. Either you had not enough engagement from thick wheels or spacers or you over torqued the lug nuts. as already stated you

The lugnuts didn't strip your studs, you did. Either you had not enough engagement from thick wheels or spacers or you over torqued the lug nuts. as already stated you should have at least as much thread engagement as the diameter of the stud (12mm). If your clinging on by 3 threads a different lug nut isn't going to help, you'll need longer studs.
