Nice. Leo's the man, very happy with the mods he did to my OE lights. Get a great deal with him on black friday btw.

Leo's working on my 3rd set of headlights right now. He'll be doing an extra set of tail lights when the headlights are done.

Install video.

Is it me, or are the DRLs not that bright in the daylight?

It may just be the video. Mine seem plenty bright to me.

I can see the DRL's for sure in the reflection of other cars' rear bumpers in the daytime.

Their weakness might be they don't project at a wide angle. I figured that was inevitable with their more vertical arrangement and pretty straight orientation.

So I'm about to install them tomorrow. I see there is a battery tap harness, but The Retrofit Source also sent me a fuse DRL harness too (with 10A fuses).

Based on that install video by HID Express, seems like they're is just using the battery harness only. Do I just disregard the fuse tap harness then?

Is ti because they did not do sequential turn signal?

It might be worth a call to the retrofit source to double check, but I’m thinking you can us either? Unless the wires in the battery tap harness are too small.

I’m using, and will continue to use, the battery tap harness. It makes the installation of it easier IMO. Plus it’s already installed on mine and I haven’t received the fuse tap harness yet. You will likely need to upgrade the fuse to at least a 7.5A or a 10A to match what they recommend.

If you have both, maybe take a look at the gauge wire each harness uses. If there is a difference, and the fuse tap wires arelarger, I would use that. If they’re the same, us the whichever one you want and make sure fuse is sized properly or go with retrofit source’s recommendation if you call them.

I like them, personally I wish they came with the option for non black housing. So you could really show off how nice they are and it would look more like an OEM upgrade or something. just my :twocents:

YuniqueLED can paint them for you

cooltoy 04-27-2020 02:49 PM

But that means they have to open them, which might introduce leaks and probably void the warranty.

YuniqueLED is a professional place, they SHOULD offer protection
especially since they sell these

i'd at least give them a ring to see what sort of details they give you
